  • Patent number: 11897802
Abstract: A system and apparatus configured to facilitate on-site treatment of wastewater from a residence is described. The system is configured to immediately treat wastewater as it is generated, on an as-needed basis, and works to remove undissolved down solids and reduce dissolved materials concentrations to a uniform level prior to transmission of the wastewater to municipal waste water treatment facilities and/or any non-drinking application. The system employs a two-stage treatment apparatus where the first stage is configured to pre-grind and decompose undissolved solids of the wastewater and the second to reduce dissolved materials concentrations. The first stage uses turbidity meters, and the second stage uses pH, BOD and conductivity to ensure a uniform output from each stage. A fast decomposer has rotating filters which operational modes ensure that the filters do not become clogged with solids in a ‘cake’ form simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 11850554
Abstract: Wastewater is treated though primary treatment of the water by way of a micro-sieve to produce a primary effluent and primary sludge. There is secondary treatment of the primary effluent by way of a membrane bioreactor (MBR) or an integrated fixed film activated sludge (IFAS) reactor to produce a secondary effluent and a waste activated sludge. The micro-sieve may have openings of 250 microns or less, for example about 150 microns. In a process, a gas transfer membrane is immersed in water. Pressurized air flows into the gas transfer membrane. An exhaust gas is withdrawn from the gas transfer membrane and used to produce bubbles from an aerator immersed in the water.

  • Patent number: 11851352
Abstract: A continuous flow granular/flocculent sludge wastewater process selects for granule biomass capable of nitrogen and phosphorus removal and controls granule size and concentration of granular and flocculent sludge for optimal nutrient, organic, and solids removal in a smaller footprint. A series of biological process zones lead to a secondary clarifier. Mixed liquor sludge, preferably from an aerobic zone, goes through a classifier or separator processing flow from the aerobic zone, to the secondary clarifier. In a sidestream process that can be included a portion of sludge preferably from an aerobic zone goes through a classifier or separator to selectively produce a granular-rich effluent, and the clarifier may also have a separator to further concentrate granular biomass, most of which is cycled back to an initial multi-stage anaerobic process zone. The anaerobic zone is structured and operated to encourage growth of granules in subsequent process zones.

  • Patent number: 11807565
Abstract: A method for remediating wastewater formed by water and per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) using a wastewater treatment system that includes a collecting unit, a dewatering unit, a drying unit, and a baking unit. Wastewater provided to the collecting unit is dosed by adding a compound to the wastewater in an amount that is sufficient to cause the PFAS to separate from the water and to form a sludge. The sludge is dewatered with the dewatering from a first dryness level a second dryness level. The dewatered sludge is then dried in the drying unit from the first dryness level to a third dryness level. The dried sludge is then baked at a sufficiently high enough temperature that chemical bonds of at least a portion of the PFAS is destroyed.

  • Patent number: 11760670
Abstract: The present invention concerns a biological reactor used in the field of sanitation for the treatment of sewage and industrial wastewater. The solution proposed in this invention is the coupling of two different treatment processes (anaerobic and aerobic) in the same fixed bed reactor. The invention aims to allow for the construction of plants for the treatment of sewage or very compact industrial effluents, where it is possible to achieve high treatment efficiencies with a small implantation area. In addition, due to the combination of the anaerobic and aerobic processes in fixed beds in the same reactor, the system consumes less energy for aeration and generates a smaller amount of sludge, considerably reducing the operating costs of the treatment plant.
