  • Patent number: 7338273
Abstract: A cutter machine has a knife holder 13 mounted onto a cutter shaft 6 at the center portion, wherein a material to be cut is cut with knives 15 mounted onto the outer circumference of the knife holder 13 by rotating the knife holder 13 around the cutter shaft 6. The knife holder 13 is separated into a fixing member 17 mounted onto the cutter shaft 6 and a mounting member 18 onto which the knives 15 are mounted. The mounting member 18 is pivotally supported around two axes with respect to the fixing member 17. In the cutter machine, the knives and a die plate come into contact with each other by a small press force of the knives, thereby enabling a satisfactory cutting to be obtained.

  • Patent number: 7333767
Abstract: An apparatus and method for punching a hole in a paper with a punching unit in a paper post-processing apparatus. The paper is nipped and transported with a transporting roller system arranged downstream of the punching unit in a paper transport direction to make at least a leading edge of the paper pass through an aligning unit. An actuator is activated to end the nipping of the paper by the transporting roller system, and the aligning unit aligns the paper in a width direction thereof that is perpendicular to the paper transport direction. The activation of the actuator is ended to resume the nipping of the paper, and a stopper member is inserted into a paper transport path upstream of a punch of the punching unit. A trailing edge of the paper is then caused to hit the stopper member, and the paper is punched by the punching unit.

  • Patent number: 7325473
Abstract: An improved guide for stabilizing the saw blade of a saw mill assembly is provided. The guide includes a guide block having a first surface for engaging a surface of a saw blade and a second opposing surface. A threaded shaft extends outwardly from the second surface of the guide block, and is generally rotatable in relation to the guide block. A securing nut threadably engages the shaft such that a surface of the securing nut engages the second surface of said guide block upon rotation into engagement therewith thereby rendering the threaded shaft nonrotable in relation to the guide block. An improved guide block or insert is also provided. The insert is bi-metallic such that the metallic material proximal to a first blade-engaging surface thereof is harder than the metallic material proximal to a second guide-engaging surface.

  • Patent number: 7316174
Abstract: When a plate-shaped material, such as a CSP substrate, that does not require exact precision is divided, a cutting machine is provided with not only first and second chuck tables, but also first and second cutting units. Then, each plate-shaped material, which is placed on a respective chuck table, is aligned immediately before it is cut, so that the Y-axis index control and the X-axis cutting movement control are established for cutting by the cutting units. A cutting portion is cut in the first direction by the first cutting unit according to the Y-axis index control and the X-axis cutting movement control, and subsequently a cutting portion is cut in the second direction by the second cutting unit. Hence, the cutting portions of the plate-shaped materials placed on the first and second chuck tables are cut by the first and second cutting units by sharing a role.
