Abstract: A terminal device includes a first communication unit that performs communication via a first short-range wireless communication method, and a second communication unit that performs communication via a second short-range wireless communication method different from the first short-range wireless communication method. The terminal device further includes an obtaining unit that obtains payment information including information on a monetary amount for goods or a service by using the first communication unit, a confirmation unit that accepts input of information indicating payment approval for the obtained payment information, and a transmission unit that, in response to acceptance of input of the information indicating the payment approval, transmits the obtained payment information to an information terminal by using the second communication unit. The information terminal communicates with a payment server via a network.
Abstract: A system and method for facilitating communication between a smart card and a terminal, the method comprising receiving a first ATR message at a first time that is within a first predetermined clock cycles after a reset; waiting for a second ATR message indicative of a successful biometric authentication from the smart card; receiving the second ATR message at a second time that is within a second predetermined clock cycles after the first time; and exchanging transaction-related messages with the smart card.
Abstract: A data signal enhancement device for adding supplemental location data to a data signal to enhance location determination is described. Additionally, a method and a computer-readable storage medium for adding supplemental location data to a data signal to enhance location determination is described.
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments provide trading circles. An example method includes defining a group having a plurality of members, wherein one or more of the plurality of members interacts with an exchange that facilitates market transactions; detecting a first interaction of a first group member with the exchange; and communicating, in response to detecting the first interaction, data related to the first interaction to a second group member before the first group member receives confirmation of the first interaction from the exchange.
