  • Patent number: 12197648
Abstract: A brain-computer interface system includes a video processor for producing a display signal, a temporal controller for producing a plurality of repetitive visual stimulus (RVS) signals with different respective temporal aspects, a display device that receives the display signal and displays a corresponding image on a plurality of different display regions and receives the RVS signals and displays corresponding RVS in respective ones of the display regions, an electroencephalographic (EEG) sensor for sensing a visually-evoked cortical potential (VECP) signal in a user with eyes fixated on a viewed one of the display regions, and a VECP processor for processing the VECP signal to identify the respective temporal aspect of the respective RVS of the viewed display region to estimate the eye fixation location. The RVS are generated independently of the display update/refresh rate and at sufficiently high frequencies to avoid flicker perceptible to the user.

  • Patent number: 12196952
Abstract: A wearable device may include a head-mounted display (HMD) for rendering a three-dimensional (3D) virtual object which appears to be located in an ambient environment of a user of the display. The relative positions of the HMD and one or more eyes of the user may not be in desired positions to receive, or register, image information outputted by the HMD. For example, the HMD-to-eye alignment may vary for different users and may change over time (e.g., as a user moves around and/or the HMD slips or is otherwise displaced). The wearable device may determine a relative position or alignment between the HMD and the user's eyes. Based on the relative positions, the wearable device may determine if it is properly fitted to the user, may provide feedback on the quality of the fit to the user, and may take actions to reduce or minimize effects of any misalignment.

  • Patent number: 12164709
Abstract: This information processing system includes: a controller including an operation element, a restriction member, a resistance section using a magnetorheological fluid whose viscosity changes with an applied-magnetic-field intensity and which serves as a resistance corresponding to the viscosity when the position of the operation element is displaced, and a magnetic field generation section to provide the magnetic field; and a circuit capable of controlling the magnetic field generation section. In a first state, a movable area of a position of the operation element is restricted to a basic movable area. In a second state, the magnetic field generation section is controlled so that the viscosity becomes a first viscosity, when the operation element is in a first area, and so that the viscosity becomes a second viscosity when the operation element is in a second area.

  • Patent number: 10969887
Abstract: A touch display device including scan lines, data lines, metal common lines, pixel sets, a common electrode layer, light-shielding patterns and touch electrode patterns is provided. Each metal common line is located between two adjacent scan lines. Each pixel set is located between two adjacent metal common lines. The common electrode layer includes common electrode portions disposed corresponding to the metal common lines. A vertical projection of each metal common line is completely located within a vertical projection of the corresponding common electrode portion. The light-shielding patterns are disposed corresponding to the metal common lines, and a vertical projection of each metal common line and the scan lines adjacent thereto is completely located within a vertical projection of the corresponding light-shielding pattern.
