  • Patent number: 5896662
Abstract: A multi-layer structure roller is a muti-layer structure composed of a tubular-shaped metal-made outer cylinder section located at the outer-most position, a tubular-shaped metal-made middle cylinder section located on the inside of the outer cylinder section, and an tubular-shaped metal-made inner cylinder section located on the inside of the middle cylinder section, in which coefficient of linear expansion of the middle cylinder section is greater than the coefficient of linear expansion of the outer cylinder section, the outer cylinder section and the middle cylinder section are coupled by using the difference in heat-expansion caused by heating both cylinder sections in the state sandwiching an elastic body between both cylinder sections to be laminated, tapers are respectively provided at the inner circumference of the middle cylinder section and the outer circumference of the inner cylinder section to fit the taper of the middle cylinder section, certainly coupled with the outer cylinder section to sand

  • Patent number: 5022134
Abstract: A pole replacement system employs a pole replacement section. The section includes a sleeve partially filled with a substantially non-compressible material. The material defines a cavity with the sleeve for receiving an end of a pole. The non-compressible material is only located in the sleeve and does not extend axially beyond the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5018263
Abstract: A one-piece sealed, hollow, steel sliding screen door frame and method of fabrication thereof is described. A flat steel strip is diecut to produce 45.degree. miter cuts, each having an opposing flap. The cut strip is rolled to produce a frame stock having an essentially rectangular profile. Longitudinal edges of the strip are folded together, crimped and bonded during the rolling and form a screen channel in the frame stock. The frame stock is bent at right angles at the miter cuts such that the flaps tuck under the miter cuts, forming a rectangular door frame. Epoxy is used to bond the flaps to the inner surfaces adjacent the miter cuts. A screen door assembled using the door frame includes self-centering wheel assemblies.

  • Patent number: 5014423
Abstract: A high pressure hose assembly is manufactured wherein the nipple of the hose fitting includes an O-ring receiving groove formed about its periphery. The O-ring and groove are dimensioned so that the crimping of the fitting's outer sleeve causes the linear of the high pressure hose to flow into the groove, comprising the O-ring into the groove, and sealing against the O-ring within the groove.

  • Patent number: 5008996
Abstract: A machine for remotely lining the inside of a heat exchanger tube end (13) received in a tube plate (14). The machine includes a flexible tube (15) connecting a push-pull device to a motorized unit (16) for driving tools used for fixing the sleeve in the heat exchanger tube. The machine also includes a tool loader (25, 26) at the head of a cable (20) which is driven by the push-pull device and means for applying the end of the flexible tube to the end of any of the heat exchanger tubes which may need lining. The motorized unit (16) includes two superposed fluted hubs (30, 33) one of which is driven by a low speed electric motor while the other is driven by a high-speed pneumatic motor.

  • Patent number: 4999911
Abstract: A method and apparatus for remanufacturing a valve seat includes providing a valve having an oversize valve head (52) and an oversize valve stem (80). The oversize valve head has a seating surface (60) which rides higher in the valve seat (34) after resurfacing thereof. The seating surface (60) on the valve head (58) therefore rides higher on the new seating surface (66) in the valve seat (34). The oversize valve stem (80) accommodates a bored out valve guide (78) to allow a single size valve stem to be utilized. A keeper grove (84) is disposed on the upper end of the oversize valve stem (80) and dimensioned such that it is disposed a predetermined distance below the original dimension of a standard valve. This allows a predetermined amount of compression to be placed onto the valve spring (28) to account for fatigue therein.

  • Patent number: 4987666
Abstract: A tear away seam stabilizer for a vehicle seat component is provided for use with the pour-in-place molding process. The stabilizer, or welt, has an annular body attached to a notched tab portion by a tapered portion and neck portion which is sewn between covering members to form the desired shape of a component. A mold is provided within which the sewn cover, with the seam stabilizers in place, is inserted. The stabilizers maintain alignment of the seams in the cover member during the pour-in-place process and also prevent wrinkles in the cover. The end result is a vehicle seat component with the cover member tightly adhered to the foam body and conforming to a surface of predetermined shape. Once the foam pad is adhered to the cover member, the annular body of the stabilizer is readily torn off.

  • Patent number: 4922601
Abstract: A heat sink assembly to dissipate heat from electrical components to a housing is made in which the housing is formed from a suitable heat sinking material including a body with integral continuous walls extending from the perimeter of the body. A carrier mechanism which retains a plurality of electrical components is positioned within the housing. The electrical components have heat sink tabs which are positioned in the housing such that the tabs are coupled with the housing to dissipate heat from the electrical components to the housing. A resilient biasing member including a plurality of resilient fingers is coupled with the carrier mechanism to retain the carrier and electrical components in position on the housing.
