  • Patent number: 4451598
Abstract: A composition for sealing products comprising from 35 to 95 weight percent of at least one distillation product selected from the group consisting of bitumens and soft pitches, and from 5 to 65 weight pecent of a terpolymer having a melt index between 1 and 10 dg/minute and comprising: (i) from 88 to 98.7 mole percent of units derived from ethylene (ii) from 1 to 10 mole percent of units derived from an ester selected from alkyl acrylates and methacrylates, wherein said alkyl group has from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and (iii) from 0.3 to 3 mole percent of units derived from maleic anhydride.

  • Patent number: 4444940
Abstract: This invention provides heat curable compositions comprising a high viscosity, peroxide curable polydiorganosiloxane, a relatively low viscosity liquid diorganoalkenylsiloxy endblocked polydiorganosiloxane, a reinforcing filler and an effective amount of a vinyl specific organic peroxide. The tensile and recovery properties of the cured elastomer are optimized when the concentration of diorganoalkenylsiloxy groups on the liquid polydiorganosiloxane relative to the concentration of repeating units in the peroxide curable polydiorganosiloxane is within specified limits.

  • Patent number: 4443502
Abstract: This invention provides liquid coating compositions comprising (a) a film-forming component comprising at least one organosiloxane block copolymer wherein the molar ratio of phenylsiloxane units to other units present in the block copolymer is greater than 0.35 to 1, and (b) a solvent comprising at least 45% by weight of a cyclic polydimethylsiloxane of the formula [(CH.sub.3).sub.2 SiO].sub.x where the average value of x is from 3 to 8 and where said organosiloxane block copolymer constitutes no more than 60% of the combined weight of the copolymer and solvent. Using the present compositions, relatively thin coatings of the block copolymer can be applied to cured polyorganosiloxane elastomers and a variety of synthetic organic polymers.
