Patent number: 5343723Abstract: In accordance with one aspect of the invention, a kicker arm-pawl lock mechanism rotates a number one wheel of a combination lock a predetermined distance to require resetting each number of a combination during lock manipulation. A drive cam-travel arm and bolt lock mechanism assures complete scrambling of the combination by requiring rotation of all wheels prior to bolt extension into a locked position. Another aspect of the invention includes a lock lever and drive cam mechanism which requires opening of the combination lock once a combination has been correctly dialed. A lock lever and pivoting pawl lock mechanism prevents lockout conditions by diverting forces applied to the combination lock bolt to the lock casing rather than the lock lever.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1992Date of Patent: September 6, 1994Assignee: Lockmasters, Inc.Inventors: J. Patent number: 5168735Abstract: An improved disc-type key holder includes a circular disc with an annular sliding groove on its peripheral surface, and a multiplicity of key retaining rings slidably suspended in the groove. The disc is formed of two halves each having in the center of the disc surface a boss portion with a recess on the outside and a convexity on the inside and which are opposedly joined together to form a wheel-type body. On the disc surface of one of the two halves is provided a guide slit cutting and extending along the surface from a point on the peripheral wall toward the center to terminate in an enlarged end opening provided on the peripheral surface of the boss portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 29, 1991Date of Patent: December 8, 1992Inventor: Philip Wang

Patent number: 5133202Abstract: A decoder is provided for disk tumble locks which is electrically rather than mechanically operated. A plurality of separate keys each has a blade sufficiently long to extend through all of the disks in the lock. At least one cut is provided in the blade of each key. The depth of the cut in each key is different, the cut of each key being coordinated to a different depth of disk from among the known alternative disk depths for the given tuumbler lock to be decoded. The base surface of each cut contains discrete electrical contact connected by a discrete conductor to a point on the key which is externally accessible when the key is fully inserted into the lock. Each contact is positioned on its key so that, when the key is inserted into the lock keyway, an electrically conductive circuit is completed by the disk if the depth of the disk corresponds to or exceeds the depth of the cut.Type: GrantFiled: May 20, 1991Date of Patent: July 28, 1992Inventor: Maurice Grant

Patent number: 5129243Abstract: A security lock apparatus for engagement with and locking on a break line coupler of the type having a housing with a central seal, a tongue projecting laterally in one direction and a crown mounted on the opposite side thereof and formed with a turned back cap defining a downwardly opening groove. A lock body is formed with an under surface defining a seat for overlying the seal and having a downwardly depending flange formed on one side thereof with a turned back rim defining an opened ended track for receipt of such tongue. Projecting from the opposite side of such body is a rail formed with an upturned arcuate rib for sliding receipt in the groove.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 1991Date of Patent: July 14, 1992Inventor: Larry A. Kassebaum

Patent number: 5119654Abstract: A cylinder lock having a removable barrel that includes a control tumbler. The barrel is retained in the housing of the lock by a nib that is formed on either the barrel or the interior of the housing. A longitudinal nib slot is formed on the other of either the barrel or the interior of the housing. The nib and the nib slot are aligned with one another only when the barrel is in an unlocking position for permitting the barrel to be removed from the housing. In this manner, the barrel may be removed from the housing only when both the barrel is in the unlocked position and when a special control key has been inserted into the barrel for withdrawing the control tumbler into the barrel.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 1990Date of Patent: June 9, 1992Assignee: Euro-Locks, S.A.Inventors: Daniel Ceron, Christian Lodomez

Patent number: 5115652Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft device comprises a steering immobilizing bar (4) extending from a fastener (5). The bar (4) follows from the fastener (5) a path which undergoes directional change so that the device can be secured by the fastener to a portion of a steering wheel rim with the bar extending from the fastening means, over the steering wheel hub and then through the wheel, leaving an end portion of the bar projecting from behind the steering wheel rim.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1991Date of Patent: May 26, 1992Assignee: Metro Products (Accessories & Leisure) Ltd.Inventor: John E.
