  • Patent number: 4725934
Abstract: A glare control lamp and reflector assembly and method for glare control which includes a conventional lamp and symmetrical reflector for providing a controlled light beam to a target area. A reflector shield can be positioned on the reflector below the lamp and has the properties of diverging incident light downwardly towards the target area and thus controls reflection upwardly which would produce glare. A glare shield can be positioned on the top of the reflector and extends outwardly from the outer edge of the reflector to block both direct light and reflected light from traveling upwardly and outwardly which would produce glare. In a further combination, a lamp shield can be positioned over a portion of the outermost extending end of the lamp to prevent unreflected light from directly causing glare.

  • Patent number: 4714984
Abstract: A night light assembly which plugs into and is supported by an electrical wall outlet whose orientation on the wall is either horizontal or vertical. The assembly, when switched on, produces low-level illumination and at the same time exudes an aromatic vapor. The assembly includes a reflector shell having housed therein a low-wattage bulb. Attached to the open front of the shell is a frame adapted to accommodate a removable window cartridge having a transparent plate whose rear face is covered by a thin pad of light-permeable porous material impregnated with a volatile aromatic liquid. The shell is vented, and as the air therein is heated and expanded by heat emanating from the bulb, a convection current is produced which flows across the pad to volatilize the liquid, thereby creating an aromatic vapor that is discharged through the vent.

  • Patent number: 4713732
Abstract: The vehicle warning system is adapted to be mounted on the rear window shelf of a vehicle or at the front exterior of a vehicle. It includes a light source such as an incandescent lamp, an L.E.D. display or the like electrically powered by portable dry cells, a vehicle battery or the like, and a flexible, resilient, light reflective sheet, preferably bearing light reflective beads, etc., which sheet is secured by one or more support members directly adjacent to that light source so that vehicle vibrations and/or wind during vehicle travel will flutter the sheet in various directions and flash the light from the light source as a warning to pedestrians, bicyclists and motorists. The support member(s) can be rigid or flexible, resilient and spring-like to aid in the sheet fluttering.

  • Patent number: 4703400
Abstract: A vehicular lamp having a one piece open topped resilient housing containing an outer peripheral groove that permits the housing to be snapped into a receiving opening formed in a body panel of a vehicle. The housing further includes an inner peripheral groove located above the outer groove into which a lens is snap fitted to close the housing. The inner groove is offset from the outer groove a sufficient distance so that the lens can be removed and replaced without having to remove the housing from the body panel. An outwardly disposed lip protrudes from the top of the outer groove that is inclined downwardly over the groove opening so that it will form a biased seal against the rim of the panel opening when the lamp is snap-locked in place.

  • Patent number: 4700277
Abstract: There is provided an auxiliary lamp for use with a vehicle having a standardized enclosed body with a replaceable lens which may be interchanged with other lenses depending upon the function the lamp is to perform. The light bulb which illuminates the lamp is carried within the lamp housing by means of a standardized bulb holder insertable through the bottom of the housing, and forming a closure thereof preventing light from passing through the bottom opening of the housing through which the bulb holder is inserted. The bulb holder may be easily adapted to carry either a single or double filament bulb depending upon the particular function the lamp is to perform. However, the lamp housing and the holder in which the bulb is carried are constructed in the same manner, whether using a single or a double filament bulb, with appropriate electrical connections being provided on the bulb holder to accommodate the different bulbs as necessitated by the function the bulb filaments are to perform.
