  • Patent number: 6315573
Abstract: A table or base for a telephone or the like includes an outer case, a recording sheet which is retractable within the outer case and which includes a microcapsule magnetic sheet, and an erasing magnetic member disposed within the outer case. The outer case has a top surface on which the telephone and other articles can be placed. The erasing magnetic member is positioned under the recording sheet when the inner case is pushed into the outer case. Thus, pulling out the recording sheet from the outer case enables a top face of the recording sheet to be magnetically written in, and pushing the recording sheet into the outer case enables the magnetic writing on the recording sheet to be erased.

  • Patent number: 6267639
Abstract: A candy container or dispenser having a sound generating device and having an oscillating member protruding from an aperture is disclosed. The candy dispenser comprises a housing adapted for attachment to a candy container, with the housing defining an internal cavity and including an aperture. A member is pivotally mounted to the housing and protrudes from the aperture. A gear mechanism is disposed within the housing cavity and includes a rotatable wheel having an irregular peripheral surface. The gear mechanism is operatively connected to the member and includes an actuating trigger. A reed is mounted within the cavity and has an end contacting the peripheral surface, so that upon actuation of the trigger the gear mechanism imparts rotational movement to the wheel thereby causing the reed to produce a sound in response to contact with the wheel peripheral surface. At the same time, the member oscillates about its pivot point.

  • Patent number: 6261146
Abstract: A package containing a humanoid or animal-like figure or other shaped object whose body is formed of open-cell, flexible-foam plastic material which when compressed then expels air therefrom to cause the body to shrink so that it can be stuffed into a small container. When the body is removed from the container it then inhales air to assume its normal full scale form. To enhance the shrinkability of the body so that it can be stuffed into a smaller container, dispersed throughout the flexible-foam body are air pockets that are much larger than the open cells.

  • Patent number: 6257950
Abstract: A self-propelled toy including a body member in the shape of an animal such as a gorilla. The body member includes a torso with a pair of legs and a pair of rotatably attached arms that are slightly longer than the legs when rotated to their lowermost position. A rotary drive, such as a battery powered DC motor or a wound spring drive, is operably attached to the body member with its output drivably coupled to the arms. The arms rotate 360° with respect to the torso in synchronization with each other. Pivotally connected hand and feet portions provide a degree of freedom for better landing and balance. As the arms rotate, the hands contact the floor to raise the body member and move it a step forward. Each complete revolution of the arms advances the toy another step forward.

  • Patent number: 6250986
Abstract: A building element for a set of toy building blocks that are capable of being interconnected in a releasable engagement includes a box with side walls, a top having one or more projections, and an open bottom providing access to interior surfaces for frictional engagement with the top projection(s). The side walls includes a plurality of grooves having entry openings of a given predominant width and a plurality of tongues having distal portions of a predominant width that is greater than the given predominant width of the groove entry openings for interconnecting in a releasable restraining engagement with grooves in another such building element. The tongues are flexible and split longitudinally into sections so that the tongues can be compressed laterally in order to effect the restraining engagement by frontally pressing the tongues into the grooves. The tongues can also be disengaged from the grooves by sliding the tongues from one end of the grooves.

  • Patent number: 6250985
Abstract: A hollow breakable object having a first shell section and a second shell section encapsulating a novelty item when the shell sections are affixed to each other. The sections are typically affixed by press-fitting, gluing, or taping the sections together. When the sections are affixed, they form a hollow shell, typically in an egg shape, having an enclosed internal chamber. The hollow shell may also have a scoring providing a convenient predefined break point on the object. Affixed to or incorporated as part of the interior of each section is an internal support structure to provide padding support to the novelty item. A coating is applied to the exterior of the affixed sections to form a breakable and dye absorptive surface of the object. The coating is made of either gypsum, limestone, silicate or a combination thereof and is advantageously capable of absorbing conventional egg dye. Additionally, the object is biodegradable.
