  • Patent number: 4135565
Abstract: A pneumatic tire having a radial carcass and at least two plies of steel cord belts as constituents of the reusable tire body has recap components that include an unvulcanized reinforcement belt having rubberized textile cord elements oriented parallel with respect to the equatorial plane of the tire. The textile cord reinforcement belt is wound around the tire under tension and an unvulcanized tread strip is applied thereover. Subsequent vulcanization assures a firm bond between the recap components and the used tire body.

  • Patent number: 4133466
Abstract: A support tray for carrying and transmitting repetitious lateral motion to one or more containers has a plurality of parallel-spaced members extending transverse to the direction of motion and at least one retaining clip. The retaining clip can have upwardly-extending fingers for temporarily positioning a container and a twist lock for releasably engaging the spaced members to transmit lateral motion applied to the tray to the contents of the container and to position the container in a chosen location on the tray. A test tube rack can be fitted with a similar twist lock if it is desired to use one or more test tubes as the containers. The tray also has upwardly-extending handles which are used to transport the tray and support the same while repetitious motion is being transmitted to the container and its contents.

  • Patent number: 4121869
Abstract: Apparatus for preventing dust from settling on or being blown against a rear window of a vehicle has strip members arranged horizontally across the rear window. Each strip member defines a plane. The planes intersect substantially in a line at a rear view mirror in the vehicle so as to permit a rear view from the mirror through the rear window which is substantially unimpeded by the strip members. The strip members are additionally assembled on a frame which is detachably supported on the vehicle for removal when the vehicle passes through a washing or other device which may damage the strips and for ease in such occasional washing of the rear window as may be required even with use of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4109696
Abstract: A pneumatic tire for use on a motorcycle, comprising a tire cover having a tread portion, a pair of opposed side walls integral with the tread portion and a pair of opposed bead portions integral with the respective side walls and adapted to firmly engage with associated rim flanges of a wheel rim. The tire cover includes a reinforcing structure for preventing the tire from collapsing when it is at least partially deflated, which reinforcing structure comprises a bias-ply carcass, a reinforcement layer of steel cord and a pair of side reinforcing layers embedded in the tire cover adjacent the respective side walls. The reinforcement layer has both ends terminating adjacent and in spaced relation to the bead cores within the bead portions and is made of a plurality of juxtaposed steel wires or cords.
