  • Patent number: 4427105
Abstract: A latching mechanism for a grain handling auger casing having at least two separable casing sections hingedly secured together to provide alternate axially aligned positions therebetween for delivery of grain therethrough and mis-aligned positions therebetween for storage of the auger casing during periods of non-use, the latching mechanism including pivotal arms secured to one of the casing sections and movable by the reciprocal piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder secured to the other of the casing sections whereby the two casing sections may be selectively moved into the aligned extended position or mis-aligned position, a spring urged rod member pivotally secured to the arms and extending slidably into a tube member, a latching linkage assembly secured to one casing section and operable by the tube and rod member upon actuation by the pivotal arms, and an adjustable eccentric secured to the other casing section and engageable by the latching linkage assembly in the aligned position between the casing sectio

  • Patent number: 4397385
Abstract: Articles (12) are loaded onto a movable article holder such as pedestals (18) mounted to a rotary table (20). The table is indexed to advance the articles (12) first to a centering station (41) and then to a work station (49) which may be, for example, a lead frame bonder. At the centering station (41) a typical centering mechanism (22) urges the articles to a predetermined center location. While the centering mechanism may be adjusted to and fixedly located in a position to center the articles (12) to a theoretical center removed by precisely one step or a multiple thereof from the bonding position, the centering station (41) provides for tangentially shifting the theoretical center with respect to the table (20). Any shift of said theoretical center is made to offset an anticipated error of alignment of the articles, even though such error may be unique to each of the pedestal positions.

  • Patent number: 4355713
Abstract: Apparatus for lifting produce-filled cartons from an agricultural field. A main frame has a pickup device at its forward end, comprising a pair of rotating facing discs on two generally vertical converging planes with high friction faces for engaging the carton side walls. A gripping device behind the pickup device comprises a substantially coplanar pair of rotatable yieldable tired wheels facing each other and inclined rearwardly upwardly, the tires providing high friction surfaces for engaging the carton side walls. The gripping device is located so that it positively takes away the carton from the pickup device and supports it while conveying it rearwardly and upwardly to a conveyor means that moves the carton upwardly and rearwardly therefrom.
