Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system, method, and computer program product for dynamically altering message rates through a transport. The system, method, and computer program product continually operates a transport and analyzes trend data using a moving average of producer rates and consumer rates. Keeping message flow at an optimal rate as system conditions vary throughout time enables efficient delivery of messages through multiple subsystems and intermediary transports to the messages' manifold endpoints.

Abstract: A network simulation system comprises a request processor and a simulation engine. The request processor receives node data indicative of resource levels of nodes of the network, and relationship data indicative of relationship parameters of a plurality of relationships between the nodes. The simulation engine outputs a stream of event data based on the relationship data.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for obtaining diagnostic test results in respect of network elements in a network, the test results being obtained from a population of probes associated with network elements. The method comprises receiving a first-stage set of probe reports comprising, in respect of probes in an initial subset, a test result and metadata, each test result indicating a state of the network element associated with the probe; identifying a specific subset of probes in the initial subset wherein the test results from the probes in the specific subset satisfy a predefined condition; determining a subsequent subset based on the metadata of the probes in the specific subset; and triggering the probes in the subsequent subset to provide a second-stage set of probe reports comprising test results indicating states of network elements associated with probes in the subsequent subset.

Abstract: Techniques for delivering data or information onto a vehicle and for delivering data off of a vehicle include a data distribution system having multiple interfaces that are fixedly connected to the vehicle, and that provide access to multiple types of data bearers connected to external networks. A bearer selector engine may select a particular data bearer for delivery of data based on a set of selection criteria, which may be indicated in a set of selection rules on-board the vehicle. The selection criteria may be based on bearer characteristics, data characteristics, vehicle operating state and/or other current conditions, priority, a feature or service, and/or user preference. Using one or more on-board networks, data may be generated by an on-board originating device and routed for external delivery, or external data may be delivered to an on-board destination device. Data delivery may occur while the vehicle is en route.

Abstract: A computing device includes a processor and a medium storing instructions. The instructions are executable by the processor to: detect an information technology (IT) event associated with an IT system; determine an event class for the IT event; identify a plurality of event-procedure relations associated with the determined event class, each of the plurality of event-procedure relations having an associated success score; select a first event-procedure relation having a highest success score, wherein the first event-procedure relation specifies a relation between the determined event class and a first remediation procedure; and execute the selected first remediation procedure to remediate the IT event.

Abstract: The disclosed embodiments disclose techniques for managing cloud-based storage using a time-series database. A distributed cloud data management system (DCDMS) manages objects stored in a cloud storage system. The DCDMS leverages a distributed time-series database to track objects accessed via the DCDMS. During operation, the DCDMS receives a request to access an object using a path identifier and an object identifier. The DCDMS determines from the path identifier that the request is associated with one of its supported extended capabilities, and uses the previously tracked object operations that are stored in the time-series database to determine the actual target bucket in the cloud storage system that contains the requested object; the target bucket that contains the object may be different from the bucket identified in the path identifier that is received. The object identifier is then used to access the requested object from the target bucket to service the request.

Abstract: A server system having functionality of group alerting is disclosed. Said server system comprises: a plurality of server computers having alert notification capabilities, the plurality of server computers being divided into at least one group; and a management console node managing and monitoring the plurality of server computers; wherein the alert notification is issued by a group of the at least one group of the plurality of server computers when a health problem of a server computer in said group of the at least one group of the plurality of server computers occurs.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to classifying requests associated with personal data at or before a point of entry to a trusted computing network. The invention provides for determining whether a request associated with personal data requires classification (for example, whether the request is impacted by regulations or other requirements necessitating classification/categorization). The determination may be based on what entity is requesting the data, the origin of the request, whose data is being requested, the type of action associated with the request and/or the data elements associated with the request. In addition, once the request has been determined to require classification the specific classification is determined and assigned to the request. The classification may be determined based on the rules associated with the regulation or other requirement(s) necessitating the classification/categorization.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses a train network node and a CANopen-based train network node monitoring method. The method includes: obtaining, by a train network node, an offline duration and a heartbeat packet transmission period based on a pre-configured network node list, where the offline duration is set on an offline timer corresponding to each node related to the network node, and the heartbeat packet transmission period is set on a heartbeat timer; and comparing the offline duration that is set on the offline timer corresponding to each node with the heartbeat packet transmission period that is set on the heartbeat timer, and determining an offline monitoring mechanism of each node based on a comparison result.

Abstract: Systems and methods for data path retention during control plane failures in a Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) network include, in a network element, operating an MPLS service on a data path in the MPLS network in an initial stage with both a control plane and a data plane operating normally; responsive to a failure affecting only the control plane, switching the MPLS service to an Ethernet Line (ELINE) service which is configured on the data path; and, responsive to a recovery of the control plane, switching the ELINE service back to the MPLS service.

Abstract: A system for testing the streaming capacity of a media streaming system, or of one or more origin servers thereof, includes a control system that controls the provisioning of computing resources, such as virtual machine instances, configured as load generators. The load generators establish a plurality of concurrent streams of content from the media streaming system, thus representing a plurality of connected user devices. The streams impart a load on the media streaming system; additional load generators can be added to a scalable group to increase the load. The load generators can produce monitoring data describing errors in network activity (e.g., dropped packets) and in the stream data itself (e.g., synchronization errors). A metric analysis system calculates performance metrics based on the monitoring data, and signals the control system to add or remove load generators until the load is as high as possible without degrading service, revealing the streaming capacity.

Abstract: There is provided a method for network address translation. The method is performed by a gateway. The method comprises acquiring an in-packet Bloom Filter (iBF) representation of a node. The method comprises embedding an indication of the iBF representation in an IP address, thereby enabling translation of the iBF representation of the node to an IP address of the node. There is also presented a gateway configured to perform such a method and a computer program comprising computer program code which, when run on a processing unit of the gateway, causes the processing unit to perform such a method.

Abstract: Methods and systems are described herein to recommend media assets to a user based on user location. A media guidance application may identify, using control circuitry, a user location. The media guidance application may generate a list of a plurality of media assets that match a user profile. The media guidance application may determine whether subject matter of a first media asset of the plurality of media assets is inconsistent with the user location. The media guidance application may remove the first media asset from the list in response to determining that the subject matter of the first media asset is inconsistent with the user location.

Abstract: A port configuration replication system includes a first networking device including a first port, and a second networking device including a second port. A management device communicates with the first networking device to provide a first networking device Graphical User Interface (GUI) that displays port configuration details for the first port. The management device then copies the port configuration details, and analyzes the port configuration details to identify port configuration replication information. The management device then communicates with the second networking device to display a second networking device GUI that provides for the configuration of the second port, and provides the port configuration replication information in the second networking device GUI in order to provide for the configuration of the second port.

Abstract: Network policies can be used to optimize the flow of network traffic between virtual machines (VMs) in a hybrid cloud environment. In an example embodiment, one or more policies can drive a virtual switch controller, a hybrid cloud manager, a hypervisor manager, a virtual switch, or other orchestrator to create one or more direct tunnels that can be utilized by a respective pair of VMs to bypass the virtual switch and enable direct communication between the VMs. The virtual switch can send the VMs network and security policies to ensure that these policies are enforced. The VMs can exchange security credentials in order to establish the direct tunnel. The direct tunnel can be used by the VMs to bypass the virtual switch and allow the VMs to communicate with each other directly.

Abstract: Provided is a method of automatically discovering topology of an information technology (IT) infrastructure. Topology relationships amongst configuration items (CI) present in a semi-structured data generated by an information technology component of the IT infrastructure are determined. Topology relationships amongst configuration items (CI) present in a structured data generated by the information technology component of the IT infrastructure are determined. The topology relationships amongst the configuration items (CI) present in the semi-structured data are reconciled with the topology relationships amongst the configuration items (CI) present in the structured data.

Abstract: The invention is directed towards a first resource allocation device, a system, method, computer program and computer program product for assigning resources in a set of resources. The first resource allocation device (22) has control of a first subset (SS1) of the resources (S) and cooperates with a second resource allocation device (24) having control of a second subset (SS2) of the resources and receives a request (RQ) for resources from a requester, selects at least one resource, and allocates a selected resource to the requester, where the allocated resource is a resource selected from the complete set (S) if the first resource allocation device (22) is in contact with the second resource allocation device (24) and from the first subset (SS1) if the first resource allocation device (22) has lost contact with the second resource allocation device (24).

Abstract: A method for selecting a communication protocol for a virtual desktop instance in a service provider environment may include providing to a client computing device, access to a virtual desktop instance running on a server computer using a first communication channel associated with a first communication protocol. A request for functionality from a user of the device is detected, the requested functionality being unsupported by the first communication protocol. A second communication protocol from a plurality of available communication protocols may be selecting based on the requested functionality. The second communication protocol may support the requested functionality. A user authorization for using the second communication protocol can be verified.
