Abstract: The present invention relates to novel sunscreen agents which have the ability to absorb both UVA and UVB wavelength radiation. The sunscreen agents comprise a specific type of UVA-absorbing chromophore covalently bonded to a specific type of UVB-absorbing chromophore. The chromophore moieties are covalently bonded together such that the electron systems of these moieties are not directly coupled.The present invention further relates to sunscreen compositions containing the hereinbefore described type of sunscreen agents. Furthermore, the present invention relates to methods for protecting the skin of humans of lower animals from the effects of UVA and UVB wavelength radiation. This method comprises topically applying to the skin an effective coating of a sunscreen composition of the present invention.

Abstract: The subject of the invention is a new composition comprising a nicotinic ester with a pyrimidine derivative, to produce hair regrowth much more rapidly than with the pyrimidine derivative alone, the nicotinic ester for its part having no action in respect of hair regrowth. Furthermore, the combination makes it possible to use smaller quantities of pyrimidine derivatives or a lower frequency of application.

Abstract: In a preferred embodiment, a formulation for the treatment of aging skin in which the major active ingredient is glycolic acid in a concentration of from an effective amount up to about 3.5 weight percent. Other active ingredients may be vitamin A palmitate and/or vitamin E acetate. The active ingredients are provided in a moisturizing cream base which has beneficial effects in itself. Preservatives are also provided in the formulation to increase the shelf life thereof.

Abstract: A novel anti-sunburn skin-care preparation, such as creams, foundations, milky lotions and the like, is proposed which contains, as the ultraviolet-absorbing and -shielding ingredient, a salt of ellagic acid with a polyvalent metal, e.g., calcium, barium and magnesium. The skin-care preparation is free from the problem of irritation and sensitization of human skin and exhibits excellent anti-sunburn effect with durability.

Abstract: A roll-on antiperspirant lotion type composition comprising particles of an antiperspirant agent suspended in a liquid carrier medium wherein the suspending agent is a hydrophobic clay and the liquid medium consists of ethanol or isopropanol or a mixture thereof and 0% to about 3.times.C% by weight of the total liquid medium of one or more liquids less volatile than ethanol or isopropanol provided that where such other liquid comprises a non-polar and water-immiscible liquid such non-polar water-immiscible liquid is present in an amount of not more than about 2.times.C% by weight of the total liquid phase, where C is the percentage weight of the hydrophobic clay in the composition.

Abstract: This invention is concerned with the use of neopentanoate esters as novel cosmetic emollients for sunscreen products.The use of isoarachidyl neopentanoate in sunscreen formulations offer new and unexpected results over the use of similar esters previously disclosed.The isoarachidyl neopentanoate has a minimal odor, good stability, water white color, higher sun protection factor values, good emolliency, good crystal solibilization, very low freeze point. It forms the emollient basis for a new way to make very high sun protection factor products.

The product of the invention comprises essentially a volatile silicone product as a carrier, a gelling agent and a physiologically acceptable antiperspirant agent.
