Abstract: An apparatus for preventing oil from draining in an engine oil supply system, which supplies the oil from a main gallery in an engine to diverge into a first oil pipe communicating with an intake side hydraulic lash adjuster and into a second oil pipe communicating with an exhaust side hydraulic lash adjuster, may include an adaptor installed between the first oil pipe and a main oil passage connected to the main gallery, wherein the adaptor is disposed higher than the first oil pipe so as to prevent the oil from draining back, and wherein the second oil pipe is communicated with the mail oil passage through a connection pipe.

Abstract: A camshaft adjuster for a concentric camshaft of an internal combustion engine is provided. The adjuster includes a stator that is connected to the timing gear, and a rotor located within the stator and connected to the outer camshaft. The rotor includes a plurality of vanes that extend into spaces created between inwardly directed projections of the stator that slidingly engage the outer surface of the rotor to define first and second sets of chambers on each side of the vanes. Front and rear sidewalls are connected to the stator and form the front and rear walls of the chambers. An outer cover is connected to the stator via axially extending fasteners and is adapted to be connected to the inner camshaft. Radial loads acting on the timing gear are transmitted from the stator to the rotor and into the outer camshaft.
Abstract: A hydraulically operated valve control system includes a hydraulic flow divider including a hydraulic valve adapted to distribute, between two lines feeding respectively to actuators coupled to two inlet or outlet valves of a cylinder, the flow of oil coming either from a source of oil under pressure or from the feeding lines. The oil flow is distributed between the two feeding lines on the basis of the ratio of oil flow-rates in these two lines.

Abstract: A cam bearing cap may include a first bearing cap region, a pump mounting region, an oil inlet, and an oil outlet. The first bearing cap region may extend over and secure a first camshaft to an engine assembly. The pump mounting region may extend from the first bearing cap region and may have a secondary oil pump mounted thereto. The oil inlet may extend through the pump mounting region and may provide communication between the secondary oil pump and an oil supply. Abstract: A soft, flexible, floating temperature regulating and evaporation reducing cover for a pool generally comprises an independently inflatable outer ring and central portion. Holes through the central portion permit egress of air from under the central portion when the cover is placed on water. Valves for chamber and cavity are located near one edge such that the cover may be deflated by rolling from an edge opposite the valves. Top and bottom films are adapted to absorb or reflect solar radiation to heat or cool the pool as desired. Magnets on the ring condition water and attach to similar floating covers to form rafts. For holding the cover in a pool during winds, the ring can be inflated with water or in an alternate embodiment, water anchors fill with water.
Abstract: A soft, flexible, floating solar heater for floating on liquid generally comprises an inflatable central portion and an inflatable outer ring. The central portion is constructed of upper and lower film bonded together at a central peripheral bond such that, upon inflation, the central portion contracts. A vertical band in the outer ring prevents buckling of the ring from inward contraction of the central portion upon inflation of the central portion. A non-inflated spacer ring may be positioned between the central portion and outer ring to disperse contraction forces and reduce the tendency for the outer ring to buckle.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjustable camshaft (1), which is connected to a crankshaft via a sprocket/belt pulley (3) and has a phase adjusting device (4) for adjusting the phase between the camshaft (1) and the crankshaft. The essential idea of the invention is that the phase adjusting device (4) comprises a planetary gear (5) having at least two sun wheels (6 and 7) disposed coaxially to each other and planet wheels (8) surrounding said sun wheels, wherein said planet wheels are rotatably supported on a planet wheel carrier (10) via a planet wheel axis (9). Said planet wheel carrier (10) can be rotated in relation to the camshaft axis (11), wherein a rotation of the planet wheel carrier (10) brings about a phase adjustment between the camshaft (1) and the drive.

The variable mechanism includes a first gear provided concentrically with a swing shaft of the first arm and a second gear provided to the second arm concentrically with the link pin so as to engage with the first gear. The rotation of the first gear causes the second arm to swing and varies the swing position of the swing cam with respect to the engine valve, and in a state the first gear is in a halt or stopped position, the first arm causes the second arm to swing in a swing direction of the first arm.
