  • Patent number: 10477345
Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing separate parties to identify each other through the use of matching computer-coordinated identifiers are discussed. In some cases, the methods include using a processor of a computer system to identify a first computer device configured to provide a first perceptible identifier, using the processor to identify a second computer device that is configured to provide a second perceptible identifier, and using the processor to send the first perceptible identifier to the first computer device and the second perceptible identifier to the second computer device, wherein the first and second perceptible identifiers correspond with each other to provide a two-sided, computer-coordinated verification. In some cases, the described methods include modifying the first and second identifiers as the first and second computer devices come into proximity with each other. Other implementations are discussed.

  • Patent number: 9681363
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for manipulating an Uplink (UL) service area of an access node in a wireless network. The method comprises determining whether a condition for updating a cell list for UL reception of a terminal device in proximity of the access node is met by considering a first set of Cell Individual Offsets (CIOs) for a set of cells. The first set of CIOs for the set of cells are respectively different from a second set of CIOs for the set of cells which are considered in determining whether a condition for changing a serving access node for Downlink (DL) transmission of the terminal device is met. The method further comprises updating the cell list for UL reception of the terminal device according to the determination.

  • Patent number: 9654952
Abstract: A mobile device determines that a communications tower is unresponsive to non-emergency wireless signals, and receives user input to select a recipient for an emergency message from a group of pre-registered recipients. The mobile device presents a group of pre-configured status indicators and receives user input to select a particular status indicator. The mobile device generates a text-based emergency message based on the selected recipient, the selected status indicator, location information for the mobile device, and a time stamp. The mobile device sends, to a message server that is different than the message recipient, the text-based emergency message. To determine a status of the message originator without requiring a connection between mobile devices, the intended recipient initiates a fetch message request to retrieve the text-based emergency message from the message server.
