  • Patent number: 6505699
Abstract: The present invention is a two-wheel drive motorcycle. The drive trait that supplies power to the front wheel is modified to include a series of rigid shafts or other internalized drive systems. The front wheel drive consists of components located on the axis of steering within the head tube and positioned symmetrically in a counterbalancing fashion within the front fork in order to counteract the torque reactions from the rotating front wheel drive while providing a full range of steering. The front wheel drive lengthens and shortens in parallel with the shock-absorbing front fork. An engagement clutch, a one-way hub, and torque limiting clutch for the front wheel drive are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6499755
Abstract: The present invention relates to an operation arrangement, particularly to an operation arrangement for a twist vehicle having a sliding slot located on an end portion of an driving frame, a pivot shaft located opposite to the sliding slot, a sliding shaft with one end sliding freely along the sliding slot and another end being connected to a rocking arm, a steering shaft being connected directly and perpendicularly to the rocking arm and operated by a steering wheel. As a result, the steering wheel for the twist vehicle can be extended backwardly towards the rear portion of the operating wheels, close to the user's operation position. This arrangement can improve ease of operation by moving the steering wheel towards the user and also maintain better stability by extending the length of the wheelbase and effectively causing the center of gravity to be shifted toward the idle wheel axle.

  • Patent number: 6488305
Abstract: A carrier assembly is mounted on the spaced frame members of a tractor for movably supporting a fifth wheel assembly thereon. An integral one piece slide rail is secured to each of the frame members and has a plurality of individual rack sections separately welded to a U-shaped member of the slide rail. Each of the rack sections contain a plurality of spaced teeth. The teeth extend into a channel formed in mounting brackets of a carriage assembly of the fifth wheel to slidably mount the carriage assembly on the carrier assembly. A leg of the U-shaped member extends into a channel formed in the carriage assembly and is engaged by a set bolt to adjust the carriage assembly for various frame widths. A pair of stop assemblies are adjustably movably mounted across the ends of the slide rails of the carrier assembly. • Patent number: 6484838
Abstract: The invention concerns a steering arrangement (1) with a steering handwheel (2), which is unrotatably connected with a steering sensor, and with a wheel (3) steered by a steering drive (4) without a mechanically active connection between steering handwheel (2) and steered wheel (3). In this steering arrangement a simple way of realizing a counter action of the steered wheel on the steering handwheel (2) is wanted. For this purpose the steering sensor is made as an electrical machine (6), which works as a generator, for the production of a steering signal and is connected with a switching device (9), whose load behavior is variable.

  • Patent number: 6481737
Abstract: A pontoon trailer travel kit minimizes transverse spaces between a pontoon boat trailer and the pontoons of a pontoon boat. The kit comprises a bunk bracket that is mountable to and adjustable along a lift arm of the trailer. A bunk assembly is fastened to and is adjustable on the bunk bracket in directions perpendicular to the directions of adjustment of the bunk bracket. A kit is installed on a lift arm on each side of the trailer. The kits are pre-set such that the bunk of each bunk assembly is in close proximity to a pontoon. The boat is substantially prevented from sliding laterally on the trailer. In a modified embodiment, only the bunk assembly is used, and it is clamped directly to the trailer lift arm. That embodiment is used with boats in which the pontoons are exceptionally closely spaced to each other.

  • Patent number: 6481736
Abstract: A renewable protection system protects wheelchair and gurney users against diseases due to contacting contaminated surfaces with impervious sheet protectors—paper or plastic—covering all contact surfaces. Identical protectors separated by perforations form a roll from which they are detached for each successive user. The roll is placed in an openable storage tube with a protector dispensing slit. The storage tube is mounted detachably on wheelchair or gurney bottom frame bars. For a wheelchair, the protector is cruciform, with the crosspiece forming flaps extending over the sides of the wheelchair, and the longitudinal strip extending over the top of the back of the wheelchair. Four detachable adhesive stickers secure the protector to the wheelchair at the back and sides. For a gurney the protector has the width of the gurney platform and a length extending to the top of the headrest, to which the protector is attached by an open pocket.
