Abstract: A vibration sensor senses vibrations generated by an object to generate a noise signal. A processor obtains a structure vibration level spectrum from the noise signal, uses equalization parameters and A-weighting parameters to adjust the structure vibration level spectrum to generate a sound pressure level spectrum, and uses the sound pressure level spectrum to calculate a noise value of the object.

Abstract: A vehicle entry-and-exit assistance device easily moves a board between a housed position and a using position. Embodiments include a board at an outer side of a seat adjacent to a door opening, the board rotatable between a horizontal posture and an orthogonal posture; a board support portion rotatable between a seat side-position and a flipped-up position; and a linking mechanism. The board pivots around an axis orthogonal to the vehicle width direction, and the support portion pivots around an axis extending in the vehicle width direction. The linking mechanism rotates the board to a vehicle-width-direction inner side with respect to the support portion to take the orthogonal posture when the support portion is rotated to the flipped-up position, and rotates the board to a vehicle-width-direction outer side with respect to the support portion to take the horizontal posture when the support portion is rotated to the seat side-position.

Abstract: We describe a Tracheal Tube insertion facilitator (“modified bougie”) with superior ventilating capability to enable medical/paramedical personnel to place tracheal/bronchial tubes reliably in trachea/bronchus of the patients under anaesthesia or patients in respiratory distress, and provide respiratory support. This device is particularly useful in situations where the conventional tracheal intubation technique using a laryngoscope is difficult or near impossible. This device has a outer cylindrical member, inner hollow stylet and a dynamic cuff which inflates during Positive Pressure Ventilation/Jet ventilation, and hence enabling oxygenation in patients with respiratory distress even before the tracheal tube is inserted into the patient's airway.
Abstract: A cleaning implement in which a squeegee blade is linked to a handle through a resiliently deformable support arm so that the squeegee blade is movable relative to the handle. A distance between a handle longitudinal axis and the squeegee blade varies when the support arm deforms. The support arm facilitates application on the surface of a force within a predetermined range by the squeegee blade.
Abstract: Devices, systems, and their methods of use, for sorting droplets or particles are provided. A source of acoustic energy can be employed to sort droplets or particles of a desired and predictable property.
Abstract: A walker specialized for use on trails by pushing and walking, rather than riding on, with no drivetrain, along with a method of using the walker on trails is provided. The walker can include a frame, two inline wheels, and a handlebar steering mechanism. The walker can further include a braking mechanism, an elbow rest, an electric motor, and racks and/or carriers for gear.
Abstract: An instant planter display lid for sizable planters wherein a potted plant can be immediately displayed directly on top. An apparatus for the display of indoor and outdoor, real and artificial, plants recessed into a larger planter without repotting. A quick, easy, money saving, material saving, lightweight, instantaneous planter pot accessory. A unit cover with a centrally located aperture and tapered downwards sidewalls having a slot to rest a potted plant whilst allowing for drainage. A sturdy support lid sloped towards the perimeter to diver liquid and having cap edge to secure over the lip of a planter.
Abstract: The present invention is a modular platform for assembling a device for miscellaneous applications, comprising a base to which either a plugin and/or an overlay may be attached, each serving specific functionality including cleaning, back scratching, massaging, scrubbing (with a surface adapting to body contours as per one embodiment), applying lotion/medication, etc. The base has a pipe-like hollow handle through which a normal or telescopic elongated reach arm may be fastened. Alternatively, handle endings may be fitted with an insert connectable to a matching reach arm. An example configuration is a ball/socket joint insert allowing free multi-axial rotation of a matching reach arm. Having the handle/device in between reach arms gives more control over directionality, coverage, and pressure over the target body area yielding more effective function. Included as a matter of illustration not limitation are: adaptive, massager, and general-purpose embodiments.
Abstract: The invention provides a new stirrup design for children, that secures the foot preventing unwanted movement, thus making the footing more stable and safer, preventing bouncing off, sliding forward, or sliding sideways. In the event the passenger dismounts, the invention is specially designed to release its grip on the foot enabling easy removal. In the event the passenger falls backward, the invention has a specific malleable design to enable the foot to pivot up and back, thus preventing the foot from getting entangled or trapped.
Abstract: The Barrier Band for an area on a human body, involving a vascular device access area. Abstract: Provided is abnormality diagnosis with improved stability on an appliance to which a rotational torque is transmitted from a rotating body. A state monitoring device monitors the state of an appliance to which the rotational torque of a rotating body is transmitted. The state monitoring device includes a storage unit and a controller. Specific information depending on a rotational speed of the rotating body, produced from vibration data of the appliance, is pre-stored in the storage unit. Using the rotational speed of the rotating body and the vibration data of the appliance, the controller performs abnormality diagnosis on the appliance. Using the specific information, the controller estimates the rotational speed of the rotating body, the rotational speed being a rotational speed when the vibration data of the appliance is measured.
Abstract: A tension monitoring device that attaches or clamps onto to a tensioned cargo load securing strap and wirelessly communicates the tension level to the driver via a remote device, such as a mobile smartphone. One or more devices may be installed on a vehicle or trailer to be simultaneously monitoring the tension conditions during transit. The tension signal from the device is received and processed by the mobile smartphone application to display the real-time tension relative to unsafe levels and transmit alerts to the driver when an unsafe or undesired condition occurs. The tension monitoring device includes an electromechanical sensor and microprocessor, powered by a battery, and packaged inside two hinged weatherproof housings for the ability to clamp onto a tensioned cargo strap.
