  • Patent number: 4092797
Abstract: A fishing device having a cup-shaped net or a cylindrical net with one end totally closed and the opened mouth attached to an inflatable circular tube with hooks and rings whereby a rope can pass through so that when said tube is deflated said rope will constrict the mouth of said net when pulled from the surface of the water, said floatable tube further containing exhaust nozzles whereby a fluid can discharge in order to cause a propulsive action to the said tube.

  • Patent number: 4092795
Abstract: A fishing pole mount is provided which includes a pole holding socket and which is adapted either to be planted firmly in the earth or affixed to the side of a boat, and which includes means responsive to a tug on the line to sound a signal, and to provide a regulated tension suitable to set the hook adequately but without excessive force. Provision is made for adjusting the tone of the signal so that two or more fishermen, located in proximity to one another, can each recognize by the tone of the signal which one of them has a bite. It is not desirable when a fish has been caught and reeled in to throw the fishing equipment onto the ground or into a dirty boat hold. A second pole socket is therefore provided on the mount having no signal means associated with it, for holding the pole temporarily while the fish is being removed from the hook and the hook is being re-baited.

  • Patent number: 4080749
Abstract: An animal trap made in the form of a cage provided with a folding door at one end constructed in two approximately equal sections hinged together. The folding door is hinged at the top to a frame which has side members equipped with channels to receive and cooperate with friction-reducing roller means attached to the ends of the bottom segment of the lower folding door panel. The folding door frame is contained in a second frame to which it is hinged along one side to permit the folding door to open outwardly for the removal of a captured animal. The folding door is also equipped with a spring-loaded hinge which is offset at the center between the hinges which connect the folding door panels to accelerate the closing of the folding door and facilitate the secure locking means provided along side members of the lower panel of the folding door for holding the folding door in closed position. A trigger mechanism is hinged to a removable service door attached to the other end of the cage.

  • Patent number: 4079537
Abstract: An ice fishing trap has a support dimensioned to span a hole in the ice and provided with a reel. A rod has a flag at one end, a line holder at the other end and a weight slidable on that end between a transverse pivotal connection with the support and the line holder. When the trap is set, the weight is remote from the line holder and is overbalanced by the flag end of the rod but when the baited hook is taken by a fish, the rod tilts causing the weight to slide ensuring that the flag end is raised with the line free.

  • Patent number: 4077151
Abstract: A non-snagging fishing sinker comprising a flexible plastic bag having at least three sides defined thereby, wherein one side is open to allow various weight-providing materials to be placed therein, preferably wet sand. Disposed along and adjacent to the open side are a plurality of holes to receive a wrapping wire which is provided with an eye hook to be attached to a conventional fishing line. There is also formed adjacent and below the holes a weakened area, whereby the lower portion of the bag can be easily separated from the fishing line when the sinker is snagged; that is, the bag is allowed to tear along the weakened area.

  • Patent number: 4077149
Abstract: A device for jigging a fish bait on a line including a base having a standard mounted thereon. Mounted on the standard is a flexible wand including a flexible primary wand portion fixedly secured at its lower end to the standard and at its upper end to a plate and a secondary flexible wand portion secured at the upper end to said plate and slidably adjustable at its lower end upon the lower end of the primary wand so that sliding movement of the secondary wand portion upon the fixed primary wand portion causes the primary wand to assume a position from vertical to any arced position between vertical and substantially at 90.degree. position depending upon the wind currents and the speed of "jigging" desired. Mounted on the standard is a reel having a supply of fish line, the line extended from the reel to the outer end of the wand on which is mounted stop members which grippingly and releasably engages the line.

  • Patent number: 4075777
Abstract: A bait casting float in which bait to be protected is placed into a hollow end of the float, then cast upon the water, thereby saving the bait from damage as the float impacts in the water. The float is of a thin-walled elongated configuration, being flared at one end and having an elongated nipple at the other end defining a floatation chamber. Air is maintained in the floatation chamber by means of a seated spherical ball trapping air in said chamber and which, in turn, is a floatation member.

  • Patent number: 4074454
Abstract: The combination of a plastic multi-strand skirt with a curled tail made out of a substantially flat thin plastic. The strands of the skirt extend from a collar portion which may be wrapped about a tubular support member such that the skirt members trail along a first direction therefrom. The flat curled tail member may be mounted on the collar of the skirt in any of three different constructions. In one preferred embodiment, the curled tail member extends from the collar of the skirt in a direction opposite to the direction of extension of the strands of the skirt. In an alternative embodiment, the curled tail extends rearwardly along with the strands of the skirt so as to be intermingled therewith. In a still alternative embodiment, a pair of curled tails extend both forwardly and rearwardly of the collar of the skirt.

  • Patent number: 4074455
Abstract: A fishing lure having a moldable soft plastic body formed with a surface having a plurality of closely spaced relatively small pockets of generally semispherical configuration that releasably retain air bubbles therein when the lure is immersed; the bubbles provide a scaly appearance and a glistening effect on the surface of the lure and the release of the bubbles creates a life-like breathing effect for enhanced visual and vibrational fish attraction. A tail of flat flexible strip material or of hair-like strands has an inner end embedded in the moldable plastic body for easy and secure attachment of the tail to the body. With the flat flexible strip material holes are formed in and a stiffener coating is provided on the inner end for effective securement in the body, and with the hair-like strands a base is formed at the inner end for the same purpose.
