  • Patent number: 7448823
Abstract: A spring loaded quick release pin and tubular receiver with a retainer pin configured to secure the quick release pin in a shackle, clevis, yoke or forked rod end. The receiver is welded to a shackle or cast with the shackle as a single body. One end of the quick release pin has aligned J slots that engage the retainer pin positioned in the receiver with a clockwise twist. The other end of the quick release pin has a cap and a spring loaded sleeve that biases the cross pin against outside of the second leg of the shackle. The spring bias keeps the short leg of the J slot engaged with the retaining pin. The quick release pin is removed with a push and counter clockwise twist. The invention includes a kit with a receiver, a bushing and a quick release pin for installing or retrofitting existing shackles.

  • Patent number: 7419325
Abstract: A tube assembling device consisting of hub-carriers and hubs for erecting three-dimensional structures. The hub-carriers consist of two pairs of half-rings, bearing tongues offset by 90° along an antero-posterior axis and linked by four connecting lugs, they support radial hook-shaped expansions. The hub-carriers can link two tubes in a fixed or balanced position, can be fixed at the tube end, can be fixed along a tube and support hubs. The hubs support tongues are positioned folded or unfolded inside the tubes used for the construction of the radial expansions into rings and catching teeth internal to the rings. The assembly enables the hubs and hub-carriers to be linked by tubes or elastic links and constitute by folding or combining the hubs and hub-carriers nodes for modelling structures of numerous types from a reduced number or elements.

  • Patent number: 7407152
Abstract: A fencing system includes a post mount mountable on a foundation and having a vertically extending outer surface. A post insert sits atop the post mount and has an outer surface disposed outwardly of the post mount outer surface. The post insert has an upper sidewall which extends upwardly of the post mount and defines an upwardly opening cavity. A post includes a sidewall having an inner surface defining a cavity therein in which the post mount and post insert are slidably received with the outer surface of the post insert preferably closely adjacent the post inner surface. A rail is mounted via a rail mounting bracket to the post insert. Threaded fasteners extend from the rail mounting bracket through respective holes in the post and are threaded into mounting holes in the post insert to provide a strong connection for the mounting of the rail mounting bracket and rail.

  • Patent number: 7360964
Abstract: A joint structure is for joining a pair of connecting members to each other. One of the connecting members has a lock portion formed so as to protrude from the member, and the other connecting member is provided with a receiving portion into which the lock portion is insertable. The lock portion is inserted into the receiving portion while at least one of the lock and receiving portions is being resiliently flexed. Thereafter, the lock or receiving portion is restored to its initial shape. As a result, the lock and receiving portions are joined to each other. The lock and receiving portions are abutted against each other such that at least one of the lock and receiving portions deforms the other into engagement with one another. As a result, this deformation limits relative movement between the lock and receiving portions.

  • Patent number: 7357591
Abstract: A ball-and-socket joint has a pivot pin accommodated rotatably and tiltably with a spherical joint area in a bearing shell. The bearing shell is in turn arranged in the recess of a joint housing. Corresponding to a first solution variant, an intermediate element made of an elastic material may be arranged between the corresponding contact surfaces of the surface pair on the bearing shell and the closing ring. As an alternative an insert element may be arranged between the outer contour of the bearing shell and the bottom area of the recess, wherein at least one intermediate element made of an elastic material is arranged between the outer surface of the insert element and the corresponding inner surface of the recess.

  • Patent number: 7357590
Abstract: A ball-and-socket joint, for example for use with an articulated support in an automobile, includes an essentially ring-shaped or cup-shaped joint housing and a bearing shell disposed in an interior space of the joint housing. The ball of a ball pin is slidingly received in the bearing shell. The inside contour of the joint housing and the outside contour of the bearing shell are essentially shaped as a truncated cone. The bearing shell can be essentially freely positioned in the joint housing in an axial direction of the ball pin. The position at which the bearing shell is anchored in the joint housing can then be precisely and reproducibly adjusted by way of the truncated conical surfaces. The service life, robustness and quality of ball-and-socket joints can be significantly improved during manufacture, while simplifying their fabrication and reducing their manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 7339474
Abstract: The system incorporates wire deflection, taut wire detection for perimeter security applications. Generally, the system of the invention provides intrusion detection by an internal mechanism. The internal mechanism can detect wire deflection in any direction. In turn, given a sufficient amount of wire deflection, a security system is signaled. However, the force required to sufficiently deflect the wires is high enough so as to minimize nuisance alarms. The internal mechanism is generally held within a structure so that it is protected from tampering. As such, the internal mechanism is also kept separate from the wire array so that it is protected from attempts by an intruder to isolate the wire array.

  • Patent number: 7322564
Abstract: A fence having tubular rails, tubular pickets and tubular posts formed from pultruded fiberglass has several advantageous features. Lightweight fiberglass components are very strong and will not rust like metal fencing and do not require frequent maintenance like wood fencing. Pultruded fiberglass components are easy to manufacture and transport and the finished fence can be assembled using conventional fasteners. Once formed the components of this fence system can be bundled in easy to ship sets for assembly in the field. The fence system adapts well to difficult yards to fence because it can be modified with conventional hand tools.

  • Patent number: 7255511
Abstract: A corner leg assembly comprises two grooved mating elements divided longitudinally which when held together form the female groove portion of two dovetail joints, one on each side facing laterally 90 degrees apart. One of the corner elements is a substantially triangular corner leg having perpendicular outside surfaces and parallel lengthwise L-shaped grooves on a 45 degree inside surface. The second element is a clamp block which includes opposite-facing L-shaped side grooves corresponding (being the mirror image thereof) to the grooves on the corner leg. The clamp block is affixed down the middle of the corner leg along the inside surface by one or more clamping fasteners such as a screw or bolt which passes through the clamp block. By turning the fastener(s), the clamp block may be loosened or removed to vertically adjust a laterally-extending panel or rail member.

  • Patent number: 7220182
Abstract: Large parallel and angular misalignment capabilities between coupled rotary shafts are provided in a torsionally rigid coupling by slidable and rotatable medial mounting of each of two radial, axially spaced, perpendicularly disposed torque pins through axially spaced radially perpendicular apertures through an axial connector and slidably trapping each end of each radial torque pin in an arcuate path between two apposed arms of one of two radially opposed forks projecting inwardly about either end of the axial connector from one of two yoked hubs. The perpendicular relation of the torque pins and slidable and rotatable medial mounting through the axial connector with ends trapped in opposed arcuate paths between radially opposed forks of each yoked hub allows displacement of the torque pins, with respect to the axial connector or the yoked hubs, about three mutually perpendicular axes thereby accommodating parallel and angular misalignment between coupled rotary shafts.
