Abstract: A hinge clamp adapted to clamp a hinge assembly with an eyelet to position and protect a retraction spring, a counter-bore in the V-plate to accommodate the spring, and a finger loop to position the user's finger during operation. In some aspects the clamp may have a removable bolt-tightening handle, the release of which enables the handle to be removed to avoid damage and to prevent theft. The handle may be removable over the head of the bolt in a first rotary configuration, and be constrained under the head of the bolt in a second rotary configuration. A hinge clamp with a retained clamp plate that retains the position of the clamp plate near the handle when the hinge clamp is loosened.
Abstract: An assembly which includes a first member with torque transmission elements, and a coupler which connects together, in a rotatably driving relationship, the first member and a second member. The coupler includes an intermediate section disposed between an axial forward end and an axial rearward end of the coupler, a forward section extending between the intermediate section and the axial forward end, and a rearward section extending between the intermediate section and the axial rearward end. The intermediate section includes torque transmission elements for engaging with the torque transmission elements of the first member, to facilitate transmission of torque from the first member to the coupler. The torque transmission elements of the coupler are automatically brought into a torque-transmitting relationship with the torque transmission elements of the first member when the coupler is engaged with the first member. Other variants and embodiments are broadly contemplated herein.
Abstract: Locking assemblies are provided for connecting to a stranded element. The locking assemblies include a housing with a receiving bore, locking bore, and aperture. The stranded element enters the housing through the receiving bore. A drive shaft can advance a locking element in the locking bore such that the locking element contacts the stranded element to apply a force to secure the stranded element to the locking assembly. Ends of the stranded element can be pushed by the locking element out of the housing through the aperture. The locking assemblies can be used for mechanical and/or electrical connections. Examples of stranded elements include electrical wires, mechanical stranded cables, rope, and other multi-strand materials.

Abstract: The invention relates to a connector (10) for securing a rope (12) to a support structure (54), comprising a sleeve (16) which can be interlockingly and/or frictionally or integrally connected to a support structure element (56), and which has an inner casing surface (18) having at least one region (20) with an inner thread (22) and having at least one further region (24) for guiding a rope, as well as comprising a screw-in sleeve (32) which has an outer thread (34) at least in sections for screwing into the sleeve, and which also has an inner casing surface (36) for guiding a rope.
Abstract: Provided is a connection structure for connecting a connection member having an attaching portion attachable to an endoscope, to a wire protective sheath into which an endoscope operation wire is configured to be partially inserted for protection. The connection structure includes: a through-hole disposed in the connection member, the wire protective sheath being insertable into the through-hole; and at least one swaging portion located at a different position from that of the attaching portion to partially constitute a peripheral wall of the through-hole. While the wire protective sheath is inserted into the through-hole, the at least one swaging portion is pressed to partially deform the through-hole, thereby connecting the connection member to the wire protective sheath.
Abstract: A release device for releasing another device in an environment includes a housing containing a material matrix. A member is restrained by the material matrix and extends outside the housing. The matrix is a solid in conditions of the environment to hold the member stationary in opposition to predetermined force. The matrix softens at a predetermined softening temperature to permit relative movement between the member and the material matrix. A heating element is disposed to heat the material matrix to the predetermined softening temperature. A method for releasing a device includes attaching the device to a member extending out of the release device. The device remains attached against the predetermined force. The matrix is heated to the softening temperature in response to a communication to permit movement of the member to fully or partially release the device.

Abstract: A fastening device comprising a cam lock is received within a first orifice of a first component and a threaded fastener extending through a central axial cavity provided in the cam lock is received within a second orifice of a second component. A cam surface on the cam lock induces a clamping load between the first and the second components normal to the axial cavity when rotated from a first to a second rotational position.
Abstract: A dropper post assembly for supporting a bicycle seat can include an outer tube and an inner tube telescopically receivable in the outer tube and slidable within the outer tube between a retracted position in which a lower end of the inner tube is proximate a lower end of the outer tube and an extended position in which the lower end of the inner tube is axially spaced from the lower end of the outer tube. An actuator assembly may include an actuator body having a mounting portion connected to the lower end of the outer tube and a cartridge rod receiving portion, and may be configured so that when the inner tube is in the retracted position at least the upper surface of the cartridge rod receiving portion is nested within the inner tube.
Abstract: Warping or peeling is suppressed in a composite structure of structures made of different constituent materials. Provided is a composite structure 10 obtained by joining a first structure 1 and a second structure 2 made of a different material from a material of the first structure 1, wherein a part of the second structure 2 is incorporated in a cavity 1d of the first structure 1, and a part of the first structure 1 is incorporated in a cavity (2d) of the second structure 2.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for barriers and fence systems, including a supplemental panel for fences or gates or the like, alone and or in combination with such pre-existing fences/gates or similar elements. The supplemental panel can be fabricated using relatively cost-effective materials and processes, and effectively reduces the space or gaps between generally vertical pickets and/or horizontal elements on an existing fence/gate/etc., and is readily mounted and racked into generally parallel alignment with those existing generally vertical pickets, and the mounting can be independent of the racking function/structure (such as by bending the added vertical picket elements at a selected/provided location on each added picket). The added vertical elements can be low-visibility and selectively spaced laterally to fit aesthetically between the existing pickets.
Abstract: The present invention includes a system for quickly and simply manufacturing semi-custom cabinetry utilizing a hidden pin joining system. The hidden pin joining system allows panels of the cabinet to quickly and securely join together, with significant load bearing ability. The different joining pin designs allow for different ways of discretely joining pieces together to create custom cabinetry during installation. The specially designed drill bits allow the system to work seamlessly. Using CAD/CAM machinery, the drill bits can cut stock pieces that can be taken to installation sites, and formed into custom cabinetry for kitchen, closets, or any other desired shelving units.
Abstract: In a method of attaching a membrane to a composite structure, a base portion of a fastener is affixed to a membrane such that a body portion of the fastener extends from a rear surface of the membrane. The body portion of the fastener is assembled with a retaining structure to secure the rear surface of the membrane against an exterior surface of the retaining structure. A curable composite is deposited against a front surface of the membrane, with the curable composite curing to form a composite structure attached to the front surface of the membrane. A detachment mechanism is operated to separate the body portion of the fastener from the base portion of the fastener, thereby detaching the membrane from the retaining structure.
