  • Patent number: 8798877
Abstract: A control device of a continuously variable transmission for a vehicle has a pair of variable pulleys and a transmission belt, and the control device respectively controls input-side and output-side thrust forces of input-side and output-side variable pulleys to set an actual gear ratio to a target gear ratio, prevents a slip of the transmission belt, and determines a lowest-speed-side gear ratio. When it is determined that a detection value of a rotation speed for calculating the actual gear ratio does not reflect an actual rotation speed, target input-side and output-side thrust forces are set to be target thrust forces for maintaining the lowest-speed-side gear ratio and preventing the slip of the transmission belt, and based on whether the actual gear ratio is already the lowest-speed-side gear ratio, values of the input-side and output-side thrust forces are changed for obtaining the target thrust forces.

  • Patent number: 8788175
Abstract: A method of controlling the speed and/or the distance for motor vehicles having distance-controlled cruise control systems is provided in which a sensor unit determines relevant data of a vehicle driving ahead. In the event of a detection of a target object driving ahead, desired acceleration values and/or desired deceleration values for reaching a predetermined desired distance to the target object are determined and outputted. While considering the relevant data of the target object, a swinging-out probability of the target object is determined and, as a function of the determined swinging-out probability, an adaptation of the desired distance to the target object is carried out.

  • Patent number: 8770524
Abstract: The pipe support apparatus of the present invention includes a length of flexible webbing having a first receptacle formed at one end of the length and a second receptacle formed at an opposite end of the webbing. A first rigid member has a locking bracket received within the first receptacle, and a second rigid member has another locking bracket received within the second receptacle. A landing pad is transversely extended from the length of flexible webbing and is positioned on the length of flexible webbing between the first and second rigid members. The length of webbing and landing pad form a pipe receiving surface between the first and second rigid members, the pipe receiving surface being a top surface of the webbing and a top surface of the landing pad.

  • Patent number: 8718898
Abstract: The invention relates to a stand (10) for holding at least one medical device (W1 to W3), which encompasses a stand foot (6) having multiple casters (16) for displacement of the stand (10). The stand (10) has a sensor unit (22) for ascertaining a displacement motion of the stand (10), a drive unit (18) for driving at least one of the casters (16), and a control unit (20) for controlling the drive unit (18). The control unit (20) applies control to the drive unit (18) in such a way that the latter assistively drives the at least one caster (16) only when the sensor unit (22) detects a displacement motion of the stand (10).

  • Patent number: 8700246
Abstract: An electrically-operated construction machine with a battery charging operation. A lock switch provides a closed contact when a lock lever in a cab is placed in an unlock position. A feed port is disposed outside the cab to accept a cable from a commercial power source. The feed port is provided with a charge start switch. A control device has a motor control function for driving an electric motor with electrical power of a main battery when a signal is input from the lock switch. A charge control function is for charging the main battery with electrical power of the commercial power source when dictated by the charge start switch. The lock switch is wire-connected so as not to output the signal to the control device even if the closed contact is provided by the lock switch when the control device exercises charge control.

  • Patent number: 8688340
Abstract: An apparatus for supplementing a brake vacuum pressure may include an engine control unit (ECU) that generates a vacuum pressure control signal for supplementing the brake vacuum pressure in accordance with the result of determining whether the brake vacuum pressure is included in a reference vacuum pressure range after a vehicle implements an ISG process, a sub-oil pump that is operated in accordance with a control signal from the ECU to supply hydraulic pressure to the inside of an automatic transmission after the vehicle implements the ISG process, a vacuum pump that generates and supplies the brake vacuum pressure to a brake system, and an electronic clutch that selectively couples the sub-oil pump and the vacuum pump to allow driving force of the sub-oil pump to be transmitted to the vacuum pump or to be cut, in accordance with whether the vacuum pressure control signal is sent thereto.
