    Abstract: A polymer solar cell includes a photoactive layer, a cathode electrode, and an anode electrode. The photoactive layer includes a polymer layer and a carbon nanotube layer. The polymer layer includes a first polymer surface and a second polymer surface opposite to the first polymer surface. A portion of the carbon nanotube layer is embedded in the polymer layer, and another portion of the carbon nanotube layer is exposed from the polymer layer. The cathode electrode is located a surface of the carbon nanotube layer away from the polymer layer. The anode electrode is located on the first polymer surface and spaced apart from the carbon nanotube layer. The entire second polymer surface is exposed.

The thermoelectric device according to an embodiment includes a substrate; at least one thermoelectric leg positioned on the substrate; an interlayer positioned on each thermoelectric leg of the at least one thermoelectric leg and including a plurality of interlayer materials that are chemically bonded with a respective thermoelectric leg; and an electrode positioned on each interlayer and electrically connected to the respective thermoelectric leg, wherein the plurality of interlayer materials of each respective interlayer is arranged in a shape of a brush.

    Abstract: In this photoelectric conversion element wherein group III-IV compound semiconductor single crystals containing zinc as an impurity are used as a substrate, the substrate is increased in size without lowering conversion efficiency. A heat-resistant crucible is filled with raw material and a sealant, and the raw material and sealant are heated, thereby melting the raw material into a melt, softening the encapsulant, and covering the melt from the top with the encapsulant. The temperature inside the crucible is controlled such that the temperature of the top of the encapsulant relative to the bottom of the encapsulant becomes higher in a range that not equal or exceed the temperature of bottom of the encapsulant, and seed crystal is dipped in the melt and pulled upward with respect to the melt, thereby growing single crystals from the seed crystal.

The cavity is segregated into independent compartments through a central fixed divider, and multiple removable dividers that segregate the brooder box into a queen bee colony and a honey bee colony. The removable dividers are manipulated in the cavity to adjust the size of each compartment to accommodate population changes in the bee colonies. A lid regulates access to the interior cavity. A solar panel operates on outer surface of lid. The solar panel harnesses sunlight to generate electricity used internally and externally of the brooder box. An electrical compartment in brooder box retains electrical components, like a battery, an inverter, and a charge controller. The solar-generated electricity is used internally for operation of an internal beehive apparatus, and carried distally to operate an external electrical apparatus.

There is a clear need for a high efficiency solar power system that supplies electricity at a competitive cost and that provides for an on-demand supply of electricity as well as energy storage. By combining aspects of concentrated solar power and concentrated photovoltaics, the present invention provides a device that enables the conversion of sunlight to electricity at very high efficiencies and that enables the transmission of thermal energy to heat storage devices for later use. The disclosed device enables transmissive CPV through the use of a multijunction PV cell mounted on a transparent base. The use of a multijunction cell allows for highly efficient absorption of light above the bandgap of the lowest bandgap subcell.
