Abstract: Several methods are described herein to allow users to manage and synchronize views in a multi-user application with canvas (infinite or otherwise) and limited or unlimited zoom. Without these synchronization methods, coordinating views is very difficult, and may lead to chaos as one or more of the users gets lost on the canvas. A “View Sync” method provides for many-to-one synchronization, where many users are automatically synchronized with one user. A “Sync View” method provides for one-to-one synchronization, where one user is synchronized to another user's view. Preferably, off-screen “activity indicators” also are used within the viewport to provide visual cues regarding where other users are drawing or creating content on the canvas. Tapping on an activity indicator preferably performs one-time Sync View with the selected other user.

Abstract: A method for visualizing interdependent network protocol fields for fuzzing and progress reporting includes providing a graphical user interface including a stacked representation of network protocol fields to be fuzzed. The method further includes displaying, in the stacked representation, an indication of network protocol fields that can or cannot be fuzzed. The method further includes receiving, via the stacked representation, selections of network protocol fields to be fuzzed and specifications of fuzzed parameter values for the selections. The method further includes generating and sending to a device under test network protocol packets with fuzzed parameter values according the selections and specifications.

Abstract: A user computing device for content presentation to a user is provided. The user computing device includes an interactive surface including an input device and a display device. The display device is configured to provide content presentation to the user. The input device is configured to generate an indication of a gesture when performed by the user. The user computing device also includes at least one processor configured to display a first content item to the user through the display device. The at least one processor is also configured to receive an indication of a continuous gesture made by the user using the input device during the display of the first content item. The at least one processor is also configured to alter the display of the first content item based at least in part on the indication of the continuous gesture.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for editing multimedia content, the multimedia content comprising a demonstration of actions performed in utilizing a computer application, the computer application having an “undo” history, the method comprising the steps of: receiving an “undo” history from the computer application; detecting an indication of an action being removed from the “undo” history; adding an end marker to a timeline associated with the multimedia content at a time corresponding to such detection; adding a start marker to said timeline at a time corresponding to the action which was removed from the “undo” history; and removing a portion of the multimedia content corresponding to that located between the start marker and the end marker.

Abstract: Context-specific user interfaces for use with a portable multifunction device are disclosed. The methods described herein for context-specific user interfaces provide indications of time and, optionally, a variety of additional information. Further disclosed are non-transitory computer-readable storage media, systems, and devices configured to perform the methods described herein.

Abstract: Plural applications present visual information at plural windows with a cursor focus at one of the windows to direct inputs to the application presenting information at the window. In response to inputs at another application associated with another window, cursor focus changes to the other application and then automatically returns to the first application and window without a user command. Automated management of cursor focus is supported with sensors that detect conditions proximate a display that presents visual information and with user settings, such as a press and hold at an application that a user desires to retain cursor focus on an automated basis.

Abstract: A method of operating an apparatus for displaying content items on a display, a corresponding computer program for operating an apparatus and an apparatus for displaying content items on a display that is arranged for being coupled to the apparatus are provided. In particular, an apparatus is configured to display a plurality of content items in a two-dimensional grid in dependence of a respective relatedness between a selected content item and one of the content items to be displayed. The selected content item is positioned at a center of the display and the related content items are displayed such that associated relatedness values decrease both in left, right, up and down direction with respect to the center position. A user terminal that comprises such apparatus is provided.

Abstract: A method includes generating a graphical display associated with an industrial process control system having multiple field devices. The graphical display includes a custom group of field devices, where the custom group includes a user-defined subset of the field devices. The method also includes presenting the graphical display. The method further includes receiving a request to perform an action associated with the custom group. In addition, the method includes initiating performance of the action for each field device in the custom group. The action could include a user-defined custom action, and the method could further include defining the custom action based on user input. The graphical display could include multiple custom groups of field devices and, for each custom group, identify a status of each field device in the custom group. Each custom group could identify critical field devices associated with a different functional unit in an industrial facility.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and program product are disclosed for presenting an interactive interface on an electronic display of an information handling device, the interactive interface comprising a plurality of modes, receiving an input gesture from a user, the input gesture detected along a surface of the information handling device by a gesture detector, and changing a mode of the interactive interface in response to the received input gesture.

Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for touch based selection of graphical elements. Embodiments of the invention improve the usability of interacting with data visualizations. When multiple graphical elements are covered by a finger touch, a gesture recognition component detects ambiguity in the selection. In response, a visualization component draws additional regions around the touched location. The additional regions correspond to the covered graphical elements covered. Thus, a user is made aware of the graphical elements covered by his or her finger. These additional regions are touch friendly and more easily selectable. A finger can be moved into one of the additional regions and released to finish the selection. The gesture recognition component interprets this gesture as if the user tapped directly and unambiguously on the corresponding graphical element.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for unlocking a mobile terminal can immediately execute a specific application at a lock screen. The method of unlocking a mobile terminal includes: outputting a lock screen including an icon area in which at least one icon representing an application is displayed and a pattern area that receives a pattern gesture input for unlocking; sensing a touch signal that moves a specific icon displayed in the icon area to the pattern area; determining whether a first pattern gesture for unlocking is input to the pattern area without release of the touch signal; determining, if a first pattern gesture is input, whether the input first pattern gesture corresponds with a preset unlock pattern gesture; and unlocking, if the input first pattern gesture corresponds with a preset unlock pattern gesture, the mobile terminal and executing an application corresponding to the specific icon.

Abstract: Systems and methods for displaying a simplified version of a modification of a media content item on a mobile device are provided. The mobile device can receive, via a user interface presented on the mobile device, a request for a desired modification of an original media content item. The mobile device can perform a simplified version of the desired modification of the original media content item. The mobile device can present a preview of the modified media content item in the user interface. The mobile device can transmit, to another computing device, the original media content item with the request for the desired modification.

Abstract: In order to display a set of media items in a visually pleasing manner, the relationship between the set of media items and a plurality of predefined media arrangements may be determined. A score corresponding to the set of media items may be compared to a score corresponding to each of the predefined media arrangements. The media item score and the media arrangement scores may be based on properties of the media items and properties of the media arrangements, respectively. The media arrangement that is most closely related to the set of media items may be identified based on the score comparison and the media items may be displayed in the identified media arrangement.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for a method and an apparatus that enables a collection of media files to be rapidly searched for segments or sub-segments of media content. A graphical user interface is rendered on a display under control of a processor. The interface includes a file-view window configured to display representative images of the media files. In one mode of operation, the processor displays representative images of segments of a selected media file an expanded-view window in response to a sensed user input on the representative image of the media file. A segment may be further expanded or selected for processing in response to a sensed user input on the representative image of the segment in the expanded-view window. Expansion, contraction and selection of a media file, or segments of the media file, are provided.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to maintaining a tiled arrangement of application windows as a user inserts application windows into a managed display region. A tiled arrangement is an arrangement where windows do not overlap each other and substantially maximize window occupation of the display region. Generally, when a user inserts an application window the tiled arrangement is maintained by resizing any previously present application windows. Where to insert a window, which displayed windows to resize and to what extent can be determined based on factors such as user input, any prior manual adjustment of the tiled arrangement, and/or minimum window sizes. Whether tile arranging is performed in a managed or curated fashion (e.g., by sharing space equally among windows) or in a semi-curated fashion may be determined by taking into account any of the aforementioned factors.

Abstract: A gesture-based search interface is provided on a client device. A concept interface is displayed within the search interface, the concept interface including a plurality of selected concept tabs. A content interface is also displayed within the search interface, the content interface configured to, in response to a selection of a concept tab, display content associated with a concept represented by the selected concept tab. A gesture input is received at the client device, for instance a touch input received at a touch-screen of the client device. A concept input mechanism is presented in response to the gesture input, and an additional concept tab is presented within the concept interface in response to receiving a concept via the concept input mechanism. The content interface displays content associated with the received concept when the additional concept tab is selected.

Abstract: An approach for providing personalized information regarding one or more physiological conditions associated with a user is described. A personal health platform calculates a minimum value, a maximum value, or a combination thereof for a physiological condition of a user. The personal health platform senses a measured value for the physiological condition from the user. The personal health platform further presents a user interface depicting the measured value relative to the minimum value, the maximum value, a historical measured value for the user, or a combination thereof, wherein the user interface depicts the measured value, the minimum value, the maximum value, or a combination thereof on one or more ring-based graphical elements, and wherein the one or more ring-based graphical elements correspond to a measurement range for the physiological condition.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatuses for identifying and/or displaying an availability or virtual position of a user are provided. In some examples, a virtual position display may be provided and may include a plurality of user indicators. The user indicators may include an availability of the user. In some examples, a user may adjust a position of a user indicator. Adjustment of the user indicator closer to another user indicator may indicate an increased availability status of the user, while adjustment of the indicator away from another user indicator may indicate a decreased availability of the user. In some examples, the user indicator may include a level of activity indication received from one or more sensing devices associated with the user.

Abstract: Methods for providing visual feedback when an end area of content is reached are provided. In one aspect, a method includes receiving an input in a first direction to at least one of scroll, rotate, or scale a portion of content provided for display, and determining whether an edge of the content in the first direction is reached in response to the input. The method also includes applying a stretch effect to the displayed portion of content when the determination indicates an edge of the content in the first direction is reached. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

Abstract: An image processer executes image processing. An interface unit provides a user interface which receives an operation relating to the image processing from users. A receiver receives user information by an input method selected by the user among a plurality of input methods that are different from each other. A controller executes, when the receiver receives an input of the user information, making at least one of a first determination of whether the user interface is to be provided and a second determination of which one of a plurality of user interfaces is to be provided, depending on the input method when the receiver receives the user information. The controller executes controlling the interface unit according to one of a result of the first determination and a result of the second determination.
