Abstract: A dispenser (1) has a source (2) of medicament with a transparent reservoir (3) of glass sheathed in a transparent plastics material shrink wrapping (4), which provides an enclosure against explosion of the glass in the event of accidental breakage of the glass. The reservoir contains not only a liquid medicament (5), but also a gaseous propellant liable to cause the glass to explode if broken. A valve (6) of the source is within a body (7) of the dispenser. The valve is attached to the reservoir by a crimped on aluminum sleeve (8). With the dispenser inverted the level (14) of the medicament (5) is within the tapered tip when the medicament is close to being used up. As use of the dispenser continues, the level falls progressively faster, giving the user an indication that a fresh dispenser will soon be required.

The pump includes a cap having a body defining a cavity that receives the tube. The cap is connected to the diaphragm to define an air chamber communicating with the mixing chamber. The pump includes a spring system received in the tube and cavity. The tube, cavity, and spring system define a liquid chamber that communicates with the mixing chamber. The spring system includes a spring positioned to be compressed such that liquid is urged from the liquid chamber to the mixing chamber and the diaphragm is configured to be compressed such that air is drawn from the air chamber to the mixing chamber. The liquid and air commingle into a mixture that is pushed through the porous member to form a foam.

Abstract: A dispensing tube assembly includes a first component delivery tube surrounded by a second component delivery tube. The first component delivery tube provides an axial passage, and an annular passage is defined between the first component delivery tube and the second component delivery tube. A component travelling through the axial passage is diverted to enter the surrounding annular passage and mix with a second component traveling in that annular passage. The premixture formed by this mixture of components is then diverted from the annular passage into a post mix chamber and ultimately dispensed as a foam. A foam media may be employed to homogenous the premixture and create a high quality foam. The dispensing tube assembly is advantageously employed in a dispenser wherein soap and air are advanced through coaxial tubes to be mixed and create a foamed soap product.

Abstract: A dispenser for measuring and dispensing powder materials includes a slide housing having a powder inlet slot, a slide having a measure slot, and an elastic element. The slide is pressed against the slide housing by the elastic element to make the slide move relative to the slide housing. The slide moves between the first position and the second position. On the first position, the measure slot is in alignment with the powder inlet slot and the powder is filled into the measure slot; on the second position, the measure slot moves away from the powder inlet slot and the powder is discharged from the measure slot. The elastic element makes the slide press against the slide housing during moving to reduce the clearance between the slide and the slide housing, makes the slide move smoothly, and reduces the precision demand of manufacture and assembly.

Abstract: A caulking gun includes a housing forming a handle and supporting a cartridge holder for receiving and holding a caulking cartridge. A flexible push plate is received through the housing to have a front end extending into the cartridge holder to carry a push disk. The housing has front and rear portions respectively receiving therein an advancer and a gripper through which the push plate extends. A guide roller is rotatably received in the housing rearward of the gripper. A rear end of the push plate extends through the gripper and is wrapped around the guide roller for further extension frontward to project outside and above the cartridge holder. When a trigger of the handle comprising a trigger is actuated to cause the advancer to advance the push plate frontward for extrusion of the caulking cartridge to dispense caulking, the gripper holds and prevents the push plate from returning rearward.

Abstract: A powder dispensing container is provided, the container divided into a powder storage chamber and a powder dispensing chamber with an opening between the two controlled by a valve mechanism. A cap or closure member is disposed over an upper open end of a powder dispensing chamber and when opened, causes a closure of the valve mechanism. When the cover is returned to its closed position, the valve will automatically open allowing for new charge of powder form the storage chamber to enter into the dispensing chamber. The closure member is provided with an actuator that extends through the powder dispensing chamber and engages and causes operation of the valve mechanism.

Abstract: A barrier piston with an integrated seal for use with aerosol containers is disclosed. The barrier piston includes a piston body with flow channels disposed on the surface thereof. Stabilizers of a low durometer material are provided on the flow channels to prevent tilting and binding of the piston body within a container. A seal also of a low durometer material is disposed on the base of the piston body to ensure separation of the product and propellant.

Abstract: A cap for an aerosol can is provided comprising a recessed portion configured to retain a sprayer for the can wherein the sprayer is contained in the recessed portion when stored in the cap. The sprayer comprises a button actuator to attach to the valve of the can and a spray nozzle extension for the button to provide additional control. The button includes a sleeve for fitting over a protruding post in the recessed portion to align the sprayer in the recessed portion. The recessed portion may also include a support with a notch for aligning the nozzle in the channel provided by the recessed portion.

Abstract: An apparatus for extracting the contents from a refill pouch comprises a holding member for holding the pouch with its extraction port facing downward, and a pump attached to the extraction port of the pouch. The pump has a pump body defining a housing space having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, an inlet-side valve which communicates with the extraction port to open and close the inlet opening so that the contents can be introduced into the housing space from the pouch, and an outlet-side valve to open and close the outlet opening so that the contents in the housing space can be discharged through a nozzle that communicates with the outlet-side valve. The pump wall portion is constituted by a resiliently compressible, restorable and flexible material so that the contents in the housing space can be extracted through the nozzle by manually squeezing the pump wall portion thereby pressurizing the housing space.

At least one piston is mounted for axial movement on the shaft in sealed sliding relationship with the shaft and the cylinder. Interengaged structure between the piston and cylinder causes the piston to move axially within the cylinder to draw product into the cylinder and to store energy in an energy storage device when the actuating collar and shaft are rotated. The stored energy moves the piston to exert pressure on the product in the cylinder and dispense it when a discharge valve is opened.
