  • Patent number: 7844171
Abstract: A rapid thermal processing apparatus comprises a processing chamber which subjects a semiconductor substrate to rapid thermal processing. A substrate support part is arranged in the processing chamber and supports the substrate. A lamp part optically irradiates the substrate supported by the substrate support part and heats the substrate. A thermo sensor is provided to measure a temperature of the substrate. A temperature computing part computes the temperature of the substrate based on an output signal of the thermo sensor. A control part controls an irradiation intensity of the lamp part according to the temperature computed by the temperature computing part. In this apparatus, the control part is provided to correct a control parameter of the irradiation intensity of the lamp part based on a measured reflectivity of a surface of the substrate.

  • Patent number: 7840123
Abstract: A diffusion device includes a housing and an opening in the housing adapted for insertion of a container having an active material therein and a wick extending therefrom. The device further includes a heater disposed in a rear portion of the housing and spaced from the wick when a container is inserted into the housing. A vent is disposed in a front portion of the housing. An active material diffusion-interference member is disposed directly above and axially aligned with the wick when the container is inserted into the device, wherein the diffusion-interference member inhibits diffusion of the active material from the housing such that heat generated by the heater is trapped around the wick, thus increasing volatilization and dispersion of the active material from the diffusion device as compared to a diffusion device that does not have a diffusion-interference member.

  • Patent number: 7826724
Abstract: System and method for the non-contact heating of an electronic substrate using inline heating elements in combination with an automatically controlled airflow. Air heated by the elements is communicated to one or more plenums, which discharge the heated air towards an impingement plate. The impingement plate includes a plurality of openings through which heated air from the plenum passes on its way to heat the electronic substrate. The automatic control of the airflow may be prompted by an operating condition, such as a sensed airflow and/or a transition into an equipment operating mode, e.g., a warm-up, standby, halt production and cool down state. Production may be automatically optimized by using a profile to conjunctively control both the heating of the air and the directing the flow of the heated air. Such a profile accounts for a combined affect of both heating the air and directing the flow of the heated air.

  • Patent number: 7812285
Abstract: A substrate heating apparatus includes a top plate arranged above a hot plate so that a vertical space is formed between the hot plate and the top plate. The top plate has an evacuated internal chamber serving as a vacuum insulating layer that suppresses heat transfer from a first surface of the top plate facing the hot plate to a second surface of the top plate opposite to the first surface. When heating the substrate, a gas flow flowing through the space between the hot plate and the top plate is generated.
