    Abstract: The products of the reaction of epichlorohydrin and compounds having the formula II R3(EO)n(PO)mOH  (II) wherein R3 is an alkyl, alkenyl or arenyl group having from 4 to 22 carbon atoms; a substituted alkyl or alkenyl group having from 4 to 22 carbon atoms wherein; n is a number from 0 to 50 and m is a number from 0 to 50; wherein the mole ratio of epichlorohydrin to (II) is from about 0.60/1 to about 2/1 are used in defoaming compositions for defoaming aqueous systems such as latex paints.
