  • Patent number: 8991845
Abstract: Vehicular system, including front wheel having user-interface assembly configured to selectively permit user to operate between limb-operating mode and side-by-side limb cruising mode. In side-by-side limb cruising mode, first and second crank arms are free to float and position by themselves while front wheel is steered to cause vehicular system to turn in such a way that first pedal and second pedal are positioned slightly offset from each other. In side-by-side limb cruising mode, control of vehicular system is improved because rider position is more balanced and an unnatural sensation of steering involving hands and feet becomes neutralized while: user maintains hands coupled to steering assembly and also maintains feet coupled to first pedal and second pedal; steering assembly turns front wheel toward one side; first crank arm and second crank arm freely float and position themselves; and first pedal and second pedal are positioned slightly offset from each other.

  • Patent number: 8979107
Abstract: An easy-pedaling and labor-saving bicycle includes a frame, a front and a rear wheel set, a transmission set driving the rear wheel set, and a pedal device driving the transmission set. The pedal device includes a crank disposed on the frame, a link-up member driving a rear link-up plate to rotate, a link-up strip disposed between one end of the crank and the link-up member, a pedal unit disposed at the other end of the crank, and a straining member disposed between the frame and the link-up strip. Pedaling the pedal unit makes the crank set as an extension of a moment arm for increasing a force moment imparting to the transmission set. The crank swings downward easily to allow the other end thereof to pull the link-up strip, whereby the link-up member, the transmission set, and the rear wheel are driven to pedal easily, save labor and drive quickly.

  • Patent number: 8870192
Abstract: The wheeled personal transportation device includes a frame member having opposed front and rear ends having front and rear wheels rotatably mounted thereto. An air cushion has upper and lower ends, the lower end being supported by the frame member. A foot platform is mounted on the upper end of the air cushion, the foot platform being adapted for supporting a foot of a user. A pneumatic motor is mounted on the front end of the frame member and is in communication with the front wheel for selectively driving rotation thereof. The pneumatic motor is in fluid communication with the air cushion such that compression of the air cushion by the user's foot drives the pneumatic motor to drive rotation of the front wheel. A pneumatic brake is further in communication with the rear wheel for selective braking thereof. Alternatively, the front wheel may be powered mechanically by spring-biased gears.
