Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure relate to soilless growth media with light reflecting and light absorbing surfaces for indoor farming and methods of using the media to germinate seeds and develop plants. In some embodiments, the soilless growth media can be a fabric made from two webs that can be joined together with a tie-in yarn linking the light reflecting plant supporting surface web yarn and the light absorbing web base yarn together in the fabric. The soilless growth media in embodiments of the disclosure can be used to reduce evaporation from nutrient delivery systems and improve controlled environmental agriculture operating efficiency.

Abstract: An animal toilet includes a body portion, and a partition portion. The body portion has a bottom face part and a side face part, and is in a box shape. The partition portion is in a plate shape, and divides the inside of the body portion vertically. The partition portion has a through hole that allows urine to pass therethrough. The thickness of the partition portion in a surrounding part around the through hole is smaller than the thickness of the partition portion in a remaining part that is the part other than the surrounding part. The surrounding part around the through hole inclines downward toward the through hole.

Abstract: An insect and fly expelling fan convenient for storage comprises a base and a host machine detachably connected to the base, wherein a storage cavity is formed in the middle of the base, and the storage cavity is hollow; an accommodating vessel is attached to the outer surface of the host machine or the base, the base and the host machine can pivot relative to each other, and the insect and fly expelling fan has a working state and an accommodated state through the detachable connection between the base and the host machine; when the insect and fly expelling fan is in working state, the host machine is connected and fixed on the top of the base through fasteners; when the insect and fly expelling fan is in the storage state, the host machine is stored in the base through the storage cavity.

Abstract: A headpiece for a bridlery item for use with a horse or other equine animal is disclosed, which provides for improved communication between a horse and a rider, and/or improved comfort for the horse. Such a headpiece is connectable to a browband and has a first side piece and a second side piece wherein the first and second side pieces are connected by an articulated linkage above a connection between the headpiece and said browband. Articulation provides a degree of freedom of movement so that the first side piece and second side piece may move relative to one another and in doing so reduce the amount of tension transmitted between them and thus between reins, in use.

Abstract: One aspect of the present disclosure can include a multilayer static housing system for preventing the ingress of microorganisms therein. The housing system can include a static outer housing unit and at least one static inner housing unit nested completely inside of the outer housing unit. Airflow through the housing system can be driven passively by the chimney effect.

Abstract: An insect trap may include a first housing; a reservoir at least partially defined by the first housing; a protrusion disposed within the reservoir and extending inward from an interior surface of the first housing, the protrusion configured to pierce a package disposed within the reservoir; an actuator connected to the protrusion such that when the actuator is moved, the protrusion moves with the actuator within the reservoir; a second housing moveably engaging the first housing; a trap chamber partially formed by the first and second housings; an inlet into the trap chamber; and wherein the second housing is movable between a first position where the inlet is open and a second position where the inlet is closed. The trap may include a package enclosing an attractant composition. The package has a release rate of the attractant composition from about 5 ?g per day to about 500 ?g per day.

Abstract: An animal feed/water container mounting system is described that can be cost effective, safe for the animals, resistant to spillage, durable, and easy to manufacture/install. The container mounting system may be used to mount an animal feed/water container to a vertical member. The container subject to mounting may include a bail and a container lip. The vertical member may have a front surface. The mounting system may include a bail hanging unit for hanging the bail and may include a container mounting bracket. The container mounting bracket may include multiple mounting bracket retaining tabs interspersed along the length of the container mounting bracket. The tabs may be designed to support a container lip of the container at a plurality of locations along the length of the container mounting bracket.

Abstract: A carbon sink enhancement method based on oyster-Undaria pinnatifida integrated aquaculture is performed as follows. Oysters with similar size and appearance are selected, washed and evenly spread onto a bottom of an incubator, to which 5-15° C. seawater is added. A rope is fixed on an upper side wall of the incubator. Undaria pinnatifida seedlings are spacedly clamped on the rope for spaced hanging culture. A wet weight ratio of the oyster to the Undaria pinnatifida seedlings is 6-8:1. The incubator is placed under sunlight for mixed culture, during which the incubator remains closed without water replacement. The oysters or the Undaria pinnatifida seedlings are taken out when the oyster reaches a meat yield of 10% or more or a length of the Undaria pinnatifida seedlings is larger than 100 cm. Seawater samples are collected to detect water quality parameters for carbon sink assessment.

Abstract: A mycological composite material is made by inoculating a substrate of fibrous material with an inoculum of mycelial tissue; rolling the inoculated substrate into a roll; and thereafter incubating the rolled inoculated substrate for a time sufficient for the mycelial tissue to grow hyphae that enmesh with the substrate to form a cohesive unified filamentous network with the rolled inoculated substrate being characterized in being flexible. The rolled inoculated substrate is subsequently processed by subjecting lengths of the roll to heat and pressure in molds to form rigid products.

Abstract: A chip-clip type snap trap for rodents is provided that includes a bait cup covered by a bait cap that prevents setting of the trap when the bait cap is in place, high side walls to properly orient a rodent before trap activation, and grip elements on the lid and base to prevent finger slippage when setting the trap. The lid and base of the trap snap together without the need for pins, fasteners or tools, providing for easy and cost-effective manufacture.

Abstract: An at least semi-autonomous litter conditioning vehicle has a chassis. A drive system is coupled to the chassis and can move the vehicle along a floor of an animal enclosure. A collection system is coupled to a front portion of the chassis and includes a flailer that can reduce a particle size of the litter as the collection system collects litter from the floor. A conditioning system is coupled along a length of the chassis and includes a drum that can receive the collected litter and can be rotated to tumble the litter. A heating element of the conditioning system can transfer thermal energy to the litter as it is tumbled in the drum. A dispersement system is coupled to a back portion of the chassis. The dispersement system can receive conditioned litter from the conditioning system and can disperse the conditioned litter on the floor behind the vehicle.

The livestock feeding devices include two horizontal bars adapted to be strung through a hay net, and further include at least two mounting brackets which each include a zigzag channel. One horizontal bar is fixed in place on the mounting brackets, and the other horizontal bar moves in and out of the zigzag channels of the mounting brackets.

A surrounding skirt extends in a downward direction from the bottom, wherein at least a portion of the bottom from the skirt towards a center of the cage is tight. The portion of the bottom and the skirt forming a bottom section are arranged to be filled with a gas giving the floatable structure additional buoyancy.

Abstract: Embodiments for a chum throwing device are disclosed. In a non-limiting embodiment, the chum throwing device includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The device also includes a container having a closed end attached to the shaft and an open end that faces away from the shaft. A level is attached to the shaft to provide an indication of whether the container is tilted or whether the container is aligned properly for use.

Abstract: Disclosed devices for intranasal administration of medicament to a patient can comprise a hand-held unit comprising a gripping portion for being held by an operator, a spray head having a spray apparatus and a nozzle, a control unit coupled to the hand-held unit via at least one connecting tube, and one or more containers for holding medicaments. The at least one connecting tube can be flexible enough to enable easy maneuvering of the hand-held unit and rigid enough to prevent widening of the tube due to inner pressure when medicaments pass from the containers to the hand-held unit.

Abstract: A flowering plant growing system utilizes a flowering plant growth assembly that enables the limbs of a flowering plant to be retained and supported along a bud platform to spread the growth out in a planar configuration. This type of growth arrangement may stimulate the plant to produce buds that are distributed across the bud platform and may grow up from the bud platform toward a cover. The height of the bud platform and cover may be adjustable as they are secured to vertical supports by retainers.
