  • Patent number: 7537015
Abstract: A table umbrella apparatus has a base, a table affixed to the base, a canopy support by the base a distance above the table, and an air treating means positioned in the base for delivering a flow of air outwardly of the base. The air treating system includes a fan, a motor drivingly connected to the fan, a reservoir positioned in the base, and a pump cooperative with the water in the reservoir for passing a flow of water across air urged by the fan. An aspen wood intake filter is positioned in the base so that the air is urged by the fan across this intake filter.

  • Patent number: 7428908
Abstract: A collapsible canopy frame is provided that includes a first truss bar having a surface that defines an opening; a second truss bar having a surface that defines an opening that is aligned with the first truss bar opening; and a connector assembly that pivotally connects the first truss bar to the second truss bar. The connector assembly includes a locking plate at a second end of the connector assembly having a base that defines first and second surfaces with an opening extending therebetween, wherein the first base surface abuts the second truss bar; and a fastener having a main body that extends through each of the first and second truss bar openings and the locking plate base opening. The fastener also includes spaced apart first and second arms each having a shoulder that laterally extends from the main body to abut the second base surface of the locking plate to pivotally connect the first truss bar to the second truss bar.

  • Patent number: 7415986
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a reinforced structure for collapsible and wind resistible umbrella comprising a telescoping backbone, an upper and a lower nests, a plurality of multi-sectionalized main umbrella ribs and auxiliary ribs, a first and a second umbrella covers, and a plurality of resilient bands. An elaborately designed jointing technique is applied to joint these main and auxiliary ribs so as to substantially reinforce the mechanical strength of the umbrella to withstand the wind force. The last section of each main rib divided into parallelly laid, shorter first subsection and longer second subsection makes it possible to lay two umbrella covers in a manner leaving a fissure therebetween so as to release the wind flowing out. Furthermore a resilient band is provided between each first subsection of the main rib and the second umbrella cover that contributes to keeping a definite separation between the first and second subsections of the main rib so as to prevent the umbrella from overturning.

  • Patent number: 7401617
Abstract: An umbrella has a shaft having upper and lower ends, a slide piece, and a head piece. One of the pieces has an upper part and a lower part having faces that are engaged together and that form a plurality of seats of predetermined diameter spaced angularly about the shaft. The parts are also formed at each seat with a radially outwardly open and axially extending notch of an angular width substantially smaller than the diameter of the respective seat. They are fixed together at the faces. Respective rib or strut elements each have a shaft of a width at most equal to the notch width and a head of a diameter smaller than the seat diameter. The heads are received in the seats and the shafts project outward from the respective seats through the respective notches. A standard canopy is fitted over the ribs outside the head piece.
