Abstract: A discharge tray for a sheet material handling device such as a printer includes multiple stapler mechanisms. The multiple stapler mechanisms are positioned along an edge of a discharge tray so that, by selectively engaging the stapler mechanisms, a desired staple pattern is established according to the nature of an assembled document and according to sheet sizes of the sheet material.

Abstract: A paper holding portion is provided in a printer body for holding paper, a print head is provided in the printer body adjacent a paper cutter, and a platen roller is rotatably mounted on the printer body and contacted with the print head. A pressure roller is rotatably mounted on a cover so as to be pressed against the platen roller when the cover is closed.
Abstract: A keyboard apparatus permits easier installation of slide retaining pins to a retaining portion and prevents intrusion of dust into the keyboard apparatus from the back surface of a supporting substrate thereof. A first retaining portion has a narrow area and a wide area, and slide retaining pins are latched in the wide area. A dust-proof sheet is provided on the bottom surface of a supporting substrate to cover through holes in the supporting substrate, the through holes resulting from the formation of the first retaining portion and second retaining portions.
Abstract: An object of the invention is to provide an image printing data control method for thermal transfer printers capable of achieving efficient transmission of image printing data from an external control section to a printer control section, and thereby making it possible to reduce the printing time.
Abstract: A head drive mechanism capable of improving color shading in an exposed image due to a variation or nonuniformity in speed of a photosensitive head corresponding to pitches of teeth of a toothed belt. The photosensitive head includes a dot block which is constituted by a luminous dot group constituted of a line of a row A formed of even luminous dots and a line of a row B formed of odd luminous dots. Also, the rows A and B are so arranged that the luminous dots of the row A and those of the row B are offset from each other with an interval Ds being defined therebetween. A final transmission system is constituted of a toothed drive pulley, a toothed driven pulley and a toothed belt. The toothed belt is constructed so as to have tooth pitches Q=2Ds/(2n+1) reduced in terms of a relative travel distance of the head, wherein n is 0 or a positive integer.
