  • Patent number: 4843695
Abstract: A package for housing fabricated semiconductor chips is disclosed. The package has ceramic base with a raised outer shelf extending around its periphery. The outer shelf defines a space in the package where the chip is seated. A lead frame with a number of individual conductive leads is disposed over the outer shelf. A section of tape automated bonding tape is used to provide electrical connections between bonding points on the chip and the lead frame leads; the tape automated bonding tape carries a number of conductive leads each of said leads having an inner lead portion attached to a chip bonding point, and an outer lead portion attached to a lead frame lead. A frame is secured over the base outer shelf so the lead frame is embedded therebetween. A lid is secured over the frame to completely enclose the chip within the package.

  • Patent number: 4845312
Abstract: An electrical outlet box with attached threaded coupling having a bore entering the box, the bore accomodating either thin wall conduit or cable. A removable gate in an interior wall slot in the box covers the coupling bore and a hole in the gate, smaller than the diameter of the bore, acts as a stop to prevent intrusion of conduit which is secured by a nut threaded on the coupling. When the gate is removed, a cable connector with hex end that snugly fits into the gate slot and is also secured by a threaded nut. Outlets for the box have U-shaped yokes at each end which are pressed into shallow grooves in each interior end wall to secure the outlet in the box, and the box covers have blocks near the sides of the inside surface for engaging the box interior side walls to prevent flexing and breaking.

  • Patent number: 4820885
Abstract: An electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding gasket for use with removable and hinged panels of enclosures of electronic equipment, where it is necessary to limit the escape or entrance of electromagnetic radiation through a gap between the panel and enclosure. The gasket includes an elongated metal strip having a clip for easy attachment to the panel or enclosure. The strip carries flexible, electrically conductive sheet material that provides the shield. The sheet material is attached to the strip in a manner to provide a cavity therebetween along their length. A free floating elongated magnet is positioned within the cavity so that it urges the conductive sheet material against an edge of a mating piece of the enclosure by magnetic attraction. The structure conforms to surfaces with significant variations, thereby providing an effective shield, and also assists in maintaining the panel closed against the enclosure.
