Patent number: 10197048Abstract: A tandem motor linear rod pumping apparatus for imparting reciprocating, substantially-vertical motion to a pump rod for a sucker-rod pump. The tandem motor linear rod pumping apparatus includes first and second linear mechanical actuator systems disposed in a single housing. These linear mechanical actuator systems impart and control vertical motion of the pump rod. Each linear mechanical actuator system includes a rack and pinion gearing arrangement. Each rack is operatively connected with two pinions. Each pinion is operatively connected to a motor. Rotation of the two motors in a first direction results in an upward motion of the rack and connected sucker rod pump. Rotation of the two motors in a second direction, opposite the first direction, results in a downward motion of the rack and sucker rod pump. The tandem motor linear rod pumping apparatus includes at least one electronic controller to control the operation of the two motors.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2016Date of Patent: February 5, 2019Assignee: Unico, LLCInventors: Andrew J. Hilgers, Michael A. Macdonald, Benjamin J. Gregory, Ronald G. Peterson

Patent number: 10180122Abstract: A fuel pump includes a plunger that reciprocates inside a cylinder. The fuel pump includes a first movable element connected to the plunger, a second movable element that functions as a counterweight for preventing or reducing vibrations that are created by reciprocation of the first movable element, an electromagnet provided between the first movable element and the second movable element, a magnetic member that is provided between the first movable element and the second movable element and that attracts both the first movable element and the second movable element when the electromagnet is energized, and a first spring that urges the first movable element and the second movable element so as to move away from each other.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2016Date of Patent: January 15, 2019Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kazuhiro Asayama

Patent number: 10132308Abstract: Metering systems and methods are disclosed. A metering system is part of a larger fluidics sub-system that includes a flexible reservoir for storing insulin and a cannula assembly for delivering the insulin into sub-cutaneous tissue. The metering system draws a small dose of fluid from the reservoir and then pushes it down the cannula line and into the patient. The fluid dose is small relative to the reservoir volume, such that many pump strokes are required to completely empty the reservoir.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2015Date of Patent: November 20, 2018Assignee: Becton, Dickinson and CompanyInventors: Kenneth Focht, Justin Fisk, Joe Gordon, Matthew Perry, Ajit D'Souza, Chris Petroff

Patent number: 9429156Abstract: A compressor is provided that may include a cylinder including an outer cylinder portion, an inner cylinder portion, and a vane portion connected between the outer cylinder portion and the inner cylinder portion, which is fixed to a casing. A rolling piston may be slidably coupled to the vane portion to form an outer compression space and an inner compression space while making a turning movement between the outer cylinder portion and the inner cylinder portion. Through this, a weight of a rotating body may be reduced to obtain a low power loss with respect to the same cooling power and a small bearing area, thereby reducing refrigerant leakage as well as easily changing a capacity of a cylinder in an expanded manner. In addition, refrigerant may be discharged in opposite directions to each other in each compression space, thereby reducing vibration noise of the compressor.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2013Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: LG ELECTRONICS INC.Inventors: Seseok Seol, Bumdong Sa, Byeongchul Lee

Patent number: 9429159Abstract: A pump includes a pump chamber in which a rotor with gates is supported so that it can rotate, an electric motor for driving the rotor, a muffler that encloses a volume in the area of the pump chamber, wherein the volume is in active connection with an outlet port and a front muffler that is arranged within the muffler. To improve the service life and reliability of the pump in a vehicle with minimal installation expense, it is proposed that a filter is integrated into the front muffler.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2013Date of Patent: August 30, 2016Assignee: HELLA KGAA HUECK & CO.Inventors: Ingo Geue, Theodor Hüser, Dietmar Rech, Thomas Valeiras Fernandez
