  • Patent number: 7338016
Abstract: A reefing slider for providing improved line management and canopy deployment characteristics of a ram air inflated airfoil type canopy. During initial descent of the parachute the slider, secured by fastening elements, is held against the canopy in the upper reefing position where it mechanically restricts canopy deployment while giving the canopy time to achieve proper orientation following the drop from the launching aircraft. Upon sufficient air flow into the canopy cells, the fastening elements retaining the slider are broken, releasing the slider and enabling full opening of the canopy.

  • Patent number: 7315112
Abstract: An insulating frame of a deflection yoke is fixed to a funnel with a metal band and a metal screw. A partition formed so as to be integrated with a holder holding a magnet ring of a CPU includes a first partition provided on a first axis so as to hide the metal screw when the deflection yoke is seen from the holder side along a tube axis, and a second partition provided on a second axis orthogonal to the first axis. A height H1 of the first partition, a height H2 of the second partition, a minimum height Hmin of the partition, a height HM of a pull of a magnet ring on a side closest to the deflection yoke, and an outer circumferential edge diameter RM of the magnet ring excluding the pull satisfy relationships: H1>H2, HM?H2>10 mm, and Hmin>RM. Because of this, a discharge between a metal band and a metal screw that fix the deflection yoke, and a velocity modulation coil can be prevented without decreasing the operability of the rotation adjustment of the magnet ring of the CPU.

  • Patent number: 7280187
Abstract: The invention is a method of determining the phase difference between two interferometric images. The method includes the steps of measuring the intensities of the two beam arms, and measuring the intensities of the interfering beam arms at two different times (two frames). From the recorded data, the phase angle between the arms can be determined for each frame. These frame phase angles subtracted, and the sine of the difference is taken. The resulting data set is examined to determine a multiplicative factor that converts the minimum and maximum to the bounds of the sine function (?1, +1). This multiplicative factor is applied to a bounded trig function of the difference of the frame angles, and the inverse of the bounded trig function is taken, resulting in the phase difference between frames.

  • Patent number: 7271530
Abstract: A filament for an X-ray tube has a varied wire diameter but has a constant coil outside diameter to obtain a good uniformity of the longitudinal temperature distribution of the filament. The filament has a wire diameter d which is gradually reduced from the longitudinal central region to the longitudinal ends while the coil outside diameter D is fixed along the longitudinal direction. The wire is polished at only the inside of the coil to reduce the wire diameter. In order to make the longitudinal temperature distribution uniform as far as possible, the difference ?d between the wire diameter dmax at the longitudinal central region and the wire diameter dmin at the longitudinal ends should satisfy the following limitation: ?d/dmax=0.041 to 0.145.

  • Patent number: 7253996
Abstract: An arc fault detection circuit collects samples of sensed current, determines a peak current value from the samples for each line cycle, determines a hysteresis value for a compressor load as a function of differences between the peak current values, and generates a trip signal responsive to the sensed current and the hysteresis value. The circuit determines a difference value for each line cycle from the present peak current value less the previous peak current value, low pass filters the difference value to provide a low pass filtered value, determines a peak value from the low pass filtered value, determines that the absolute value of the low pass filtered value is less than a portion of the peak value and responsively saves the peak value, and determines the hysteresis value as a function of the saved peak value. An operating mechanism opens separable contacts responsive to the trip signal.
