  • Patent number: 10518013
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dialyzer holder to attach a dialyzer to a dialysis machine. During priming of a bloodline prior to a dialysis treatment, the dialyzer holder grips a dialyzer in approximately the center of the dialyzer, but allows movements of the dialyzer in an arc motion using two axes of rotation. The holder enables the dialyzer to move to a position where air can be primed from the dialyzer and, because the dialyzer can move toward the dialysis machine, this motion eliminates stress on the tubing connected to the bottom and top of the dialyzer and reduces the length of bloodline tubing necessary to accommodate dialyzer movement. The dialyzer holder incorporates an attachment point for a venous chamber for use during the priming procedure, enabling the venous chamber to move with the dialyzer, further reducing the tubing between the dialyzer and the venous chamber.

  • Patent number: 10478827
Abstract: A device for manipulating magnetic particles, and the method of fabricating and use thereof. The device includes a substrate; a conductive element formed onto the substrate in a pattern shaped to enhance a magnetic field generated in response to an applied current; an insulating layer to isolate the conductive element from a magnetic element; and a magnetic element formed onto the insulating layer to enhance a magnetic force resulting from the magnetic field generated by the conductive element. The magnetic element can be shaped similarly to the conductive element, and edges of the magnetic element are substantially aligned with edges of the conductive element. During fabrication, the substrate and the conductive element can be heated to cause the substrate to shrink thereby resulting in a wrinkled structure at the conductive element. • Patent number: 10428704
Abstract: An anti-rotation oil filter system to prevent inadvertent release of the oil filter from a lubrication system is provided. The system includes a ratchet gear attached to one of either the oil filter or the engine's oil filter attachment base. In both embodiments, a spring-loaded ratchet release pawl is provided to engage the ratchet and to thereby hold the filter in place against the attachment base until such time as the filter needs to be changed. Where the ratchet gear is fitted to the filter, a ratchet release pawl is associated with the engine's oil filter attachment base. The teeth of the ratchet ring gear extend outwardly from the filter. Alternatively, where the ratchet gear is fitted to the engine's filter attachment base, a ratchet release pawl is associated with the filter. Regardless of the embodiment, the ratchet gear and pawl arrangement restricts filter rotation to maintain clamp load.
