Abstract: An example of a system for review of clinical data includes a medical device configured to receive patient data signals from patient interface devices coupled to the medical device, and an auxiliary device configured to communicatively couple to the medical device via a communication channel and including an output device, a memory, a communication interface, and a processor configured to establish the communication channel, estimate a transmission age for the patient data, receive the patient data from the medical device via the communication channel, determine a patient data age based on at least one of the transmission age and a playback selection age, select a patient data age threshold based on a patient data context, compare the patient data age to the patient data age threshold to determine a patient data age indication, and provide the patient data and the patient data age indication at the output device.

Abstract: A large diameter medical suctioning system for rapid evacuation of fluid foreign matter from patients using an increased diameter suction tube and a variable diameter suction tip. The variable diameter suction tip is expandable to a diameter of between 3/8 of an inch and 2 inches. The suction tube and connections thereto have a correspondingly increased diameter that provides an evacuation rate at least 10 times faster than the rate of evacuation using conventional suction systems. Additionally, the variable diameter suction tip is capable of performing the functions of a conventional suction tip by reducing the diameter of the variable diameter suction tip. The large diameter suctioning system is configured for connection to the pour spout of a suction canister to assure compatibility with existing medical vacuum systems.
Abstract: The present invention provides a composition and use of a composition comprising a bioadhesive cross-linked polycarboxylic acid polymer formulation that enables the use of relatively low mounts of anti-STD infectants, such as N-9, to be used to prevent infection by STDs without causing the irritation to genital tissue that often accompanies higher doses of anti-STDs. The bioadhesive polymer maintains greater contact between the anti-STD agent and the infectant for a much greater period of time, enabling a lower concentration to act longer on the infectant, when compared to currently-available commercial applications containing N-9. Such delivery will enable a safe and non-irritating decrease in the risk of infection with STDs, including HIV.
