  • Patent number: 8458351
Abstract: A selection of a menu command that identifies a selected area of a web page as containing undesirable content is detected using a user input device of a client computer system executing a web browser that loads source web content from a group of servers. In response to the detection of the selected menu command, an alternate Internet Protocol (IP) address is substituted for a hostname of a website that provided the undesirable content. The alternate IP address is selected based on a content substitution profile of the client computer system. Using the substituted alternate IP address in response to a content request that identifies the undesirable content, the web page is reloaded with substituted source web content received from a server accessed by the alternate IP address displayed in the selected area of the web page instead of displaying the undesirable content identified in the content request.

  • Patent number: 8458296
Abstract: A computer system includes a host environment for the server, equipped with a port for communicating over an extended network and a network server to which is assigned a first network address or URL pathway. The computer system includes server applications and an access manager capable of receiving a call expression from the port. A call expression is a request from a user that includes the first network address or URL pathway. The access manager includes a discriminator that can be activated to check whether a call expression comprises a second URL-type segment that is different from the first network address or URL pathway; and a shunting device which activates the discriminator when the call expression is received from a registered user and if the discriminator determines that a call expression contains a second URL-type segment different from the first network address or URL pathway the shunting device activates a predefined application that isolates or rewrites the second URL-type segment.

  • Patent number: 8437056
Abstract: An analytical method for computing a video hologram for a holographic reproduction device having at least one light modulation means is disclosed, wherein a scene split into object points is encoded as a whole hologram and can be seen as a reconstruction from a visibility region, located within a periodicity interval of the reconstruction. The visibility region, together with each object point of the scene to be reconstructed, defines a subhologram and the whole hologram is generated from a superposition of subholograms, wherein the complex hologram values of a subhologram are determined from the wave front of the respective object point to be reconstructed in a modulator region of the light modulation means, by calculating and evaluating the transmission or modulation functions of an imaging element formed in the modulator region. The object point to be reconstructed is located in the focal point of the imaging element.

  • Patent number: 8395833
Abstract: A holographic projection system with a display screen and an optical wave tracking element for controlling the direction of propagation of a modulated wave uses a position controller and an eye finder. An extremely wide tracking range is realized in the projection system for simultaneous viewing of the reconstruction by multiple observers, which are situated beside one another. The reconstruction of the scene is reconstructed for each eye position of an observer such that the entire scene is visible in the visibility region in a large tracking range with minimal errors. The projection system reconstructs the scene with the help of modulated partial waves. Projection element(s) direct these partial waves with separately holographically reconstructed segments of the scene at the desired eye position through a structure of screen segments which are at least horizontally staggered on the display screen.

  • Patent number: 8386637
Abstract: Two or more network traffic processors connected with the same LAN and WAN are identified as neighbors. Neighboring network traffic processors cooperate to overcome asymmetric routing, thereby ensuring that related sequences of network traffic are processed by the same network proxy. A network proxy can be included in a network traffic processor or as a standalone unit. A network traffic processor that intercepts a new connection initiation by a client assigns a network proxy to handle all messages associated with that connection. The network traffic processor conveys connection information to neighboring network traffic processors. The neighboring network traffic processors use the connection information to redirect network traffic associated with the connection to the assigned network proxy, thereby overcoming the effects of asymmetric routing. The assigned network proxy handles redirected network traffic in much the same way that it would handle network traffic received directly.
