  • Patent number: 6079688
Abstract: An automobile vehicle seat slide includes a generally U-shaped female section having two substantially parallel flanges. The slide also has a generally U-shaped male section with two substantially parallel flanges that slide longitudinally between the flanges of the female section. A lock longitudinally locks the male section to the female section, the lock including an elastically flexible strip located inside the slide and having a first end portion that bears crenelations extending laterally beyond the flanges of the male section and passing through cutouts located in the male section flanges, the crenelations also engaging notches made in the flanges of the female section. The strip includes an attachment end portion located at a second end of the strip, opposite the first end. There is at least one pincer formation stamped in each male section flange for gripping a confronting surface of the attachment end portion thereby maintaining the 87strip against a base of the male section.

  • Patent number: 6079679
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for securing material. In particular, the invention is basically an S-shaped device comprised of three substantially planar members and two substantially U-shaped connections used in conjunction with a toolbox mounted in a pickup truck. The exact configuration of the device can be modified to fit different types of toolboxes or other vertical supports, for example, inserting an L-shaped section for form fitting toolboxes. The device provides a tie point for securing cargo with ropes or similar restraining material. The device itself is secured by closing the lid of the toolbox and is essentially reversible in application due to its S-shape. Furthermore, the device can be used without restraining material to secure cargo with handles or loops. In this manner, the cargo, such as grocery bags, are secured and transported by looping the cargo handle over the tie point.

  • Patent number: 6079680
Abstract: A keyboard support system attaches to an edge of a work surface. The work surface includes a working surface and an underside. The keyboard support system includes a keyboard platform configured for supporting a keyboard. A U-shaped mounting bracket includes a top wall having a lower surface, a monolithic bottom wall and a middle wall interconnecting the top wall and the bottom wall. The bottom wall has an upper surface and a lower surface with a pair of integral, opposing guide rails projecting therefrom. Each guide rail has a length oriented substantially parallel to the bottom wall. The middle wall is configured to both resiliently bias the lower surface of the top wall against the working surface of the work surface and resiliently bias the upper surface of the bottom wall against the underside of the work surface, thereby clamping the work surface between the top wall and the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 6076786
Abstract: The invention is an enhancement to video display screens which enables enhanced adjustment to the position of the video display screen. The invention enables a user to easily raise the video display screen a variable number of inches vertically above, for example, the keyboard of a computer, or a desk top, or to move the display closer to or farther away from the viewer. The display adjustment mechanism is enclosed in a compartment behind the display screen and a portion slides out of the compartment as the user lifts the display upward from its lowest position. A pressure release button releases meshed teeth between a lock bar and a stabilizer bar. When engaged, the teeth hold the display in a desired vertical position. The display can also be rotated about 180 degrees in either direction relative to the keyboard, desk top or other device. The display may also be tilted forward or back to position the screen in a desired position.

  • Patent number: 6070844
Abstract: A beverage holder composed of hollow cylindrical upper and lower parts, where the parts are rotatable with respect to one another. The upper and lower parts are connected with one another by a plurality of rod-shaped connecting elements (rods). When the two parts are rotated relative to one another, the rods are tilted, such that the inside diameter inside the hollow cylindrical upper and lower parts is reduced. In this manner, a container inserted into the beverage holder is reliably clamped. The rod-shaped connecting elements may be designed "in the manner of a stocking." When an impermeable material is used and the rod-shaped connecting elements are attached in a sealing fashion to the hollow cylindrical assembly and/or the ring, the cylindrical assembly then becomes suitable for allowing a liquid or a gaseous media to flow through it.

  • Patent number: 6068234
Abstract: A setting foot (1) for positioning machines, for example, on a base, comprises two setting members (2, 8) which can be mutually vertically displaced with respect to one another by a screw thread. The upper setting member (8) comprises a spherical surface, along which a bearing plate (17) with a spherical surface can slide. A first flexible sealing ring (21) may be accommodated between the lower (2) and the upper setting member (8), and, in the event of rotation of the upper setting member (8), bridges the spacing between the two setting members (2, 8). As a result, contamination of the screw thread is prevented. A second sealing ring (27) may be positioned along the outer circumference of the bearing plate (17), so that the curved surfaces are protected from the lateral penetration of dirt or moisture. A height indication (23) may be accommodated along the outer circumference of the upper or lower setting member (2, 8), which height indication can be covered by the sealing element (21).

  • Patent number: 6050531
Abstract: A locking device for multiple section telescope tubes that locks the telescoping tubes in any position of extension and releases the leg sections sequentially from the bottom up by depressing a push rod. The push rod releases a pin or ball that clamps the internal surface of an outer leg to the surface of an inner leg, thereby preventing an inner leg from sliding within the outer leg. The device can be used on any telescoping device. For example, the locking device may be used with tripods for cameras, painter's easels, telescopes, and other optical instruments, as a single multi-section stand for music, microphones, light stands, canes, walking sticks, flagpoles, umbrellas, handles, tent poles, or for devices such as radio antennae or pointing devices.
