  • Patent number: 7266704
Abstract: This application describes methods and systems of performing digital asset management. In one implementation a method of determining whether content should be encrypted when the content is found in an unencrypted form is provided. The unencrypted form of the content includes a digital watermark embedded therein including a message. The method recites: decoding the digital watermark from the encrypted form of the content to obtain the message; based at least in part on the message, determining whether the unencrypted form of the content should be encrypted; and if so decided by the determination, encrypting the unencrypted form of the content. Other implementations and embodiments are provided as well.

  • Patent number: 7266841
Abstract: The invention provides a module for use in a central service provider interface having access to security system and voice and data communications. The module is configured to allow the security system to seize the telephone line when necessary to indicate a security breached to the service provider by incorporating RJ31 functionality to allow the security panel to seize the primary line if activated. The module is also configured to connect a modem to an Internet service provider over PSTN twisted pair cable. Primary and secondary telephone lines are passed through the modem before the telephones to allow filtering of the data signals.

  • Patent number: 7260222
Abstract: Each of a transmitter (1) and a receiver (2) divides temporarily-shared data into one or more purification blocks and one or more disposable blocks, and mixes each purification block so as to enlarge a Hamming distance between corresponding purification blocks being held by the transmitter (1) and the receiver (2) by using a Hamming distance amplification effect. The transmitter (1) Vernam-encrypts the mixed data with the disposable data and transmits the mixed data to the receiver (2), and the receiver (2) decrypts the received Vernam-encrypted data by using a disposable block owned thereby, and compares the Hamming distance between the purification block owned thereby with the mixed data with a predetermined value so as to judge whether each purification block can be shared between the transmitter (1) and the receiver (2).

  • Patent number: 7260565
Abstract: A table searching system for facilitating high speed linear searching of a table of information by a plurality of searching agents is provided. The system includes: a memory unit for storing a table of information including a plurality of data entries each having data contents; a plurality of searching agents each being communicatively coupled with the memory unit, and having a port for receiving an associated search key value; and a memory controller unit providing a centralized interface between the memory unit and each of the agents, the controller unit being operative to control the memory unit to provide the contents of a current one of the table entries to each of the agents during each of a plurality of cycles of operation. Each of the searching agents is operative to determine an associated best matching one of the data entries based on comparisons between the associated key value and the contents of the data entries provided by the memory unit.

  • Patent number: 7257645
Abstract: A large message can be stored by separating the message into an envelope portion containing information such as headers, protocols, and addresses, and a payload portion containing items such as file attachments. The envelope portion can be stored in local storage, while the payload can be stored to a persistent store. The message can be processed incrementally, such that the entire message is never in system memory. Once the envelope portion is processed, the payload portion can be read in increments without being processed, and those increments written directly to the persistent store. Alternatively, the payload can be streamed to the persistent store. A pointer in the envelope can then be used to locate and retrieve attachments from persistent storage. This description is not intended to be a complete description of, or limit the scope of, the invention. Other features, aspects, and objects of the invention can be obtained from a review of the specification, the figures, and the claims.

  • Patent number: 7240364
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for authenticating the identities of network devices within a telecommunications network. In particular, multiple identifiers associated with a network device are retrieved from and used to identify the network device. Use of multiple identifiers provides fault tolerance and supports full modularity of hardware within a network device. Authenticating the identity of a network device through multiple identifiers allows for the possibility that hardware associated with one or more of the identifiers may be removed from the network device. For example, a network device may still be automatically authenticated even if more than one card within the device are removed as long as at least one card corresponding to an identifier being used for authentication is within the device during authentication.

  • Patent number: 7239701
Abstract: Mapping is carried out at a point on an elliptic curve to be utilized for elliptic encryption based on identity information (ID information) of each entity and a mapping value is set to be a public key of the entity. By using the mapping value and secret information, a secret key of each entity is generated. The entity generates a common key to be used for an encrypting process and a decrypting process by utilizing the self-secret key and the public key to be the mapping value obtained by mapping at a point on the elliptic curve based on ID information of a communication participate. In this case, pairing on the elliptic curve is utilized.

  • Patent number: 7236598
Abstract: A communications system and method is provided to reliably protect communication systems, such as mobile phone systems, from unauthorized use, as well as to make the interception of wireless communication more difficult. Specifically, the static wireless phone number or other similar identifiers are not used for identification and authorization during communication between the mobile unit and a base station. Instead, a set of private identifiers is determined and is known only to the phone company and the base stations controlling the mobile phone calls. These private identifiers allow dynamic and continual updating of the mobile phone and base station directories with current valid identifiers that are used for communication between the devices.

  • Patent number: 7236976
Abstract: A system and method that allows an individual event participant to schedule and/or status an event and the provisions of one or more ancillary tasks associated with the event. The scheduling of the provisions of the event and ancillary tasks and sub-tasks associated with the event are performed by the event participant without the intervention of a centralized event planner using a system that provides for integrated scheduling of resources and calendaring of people within a common event-based scheduling system. The event-based scheduling system provides vertical integration of multiple sub-tasks within an individual task and horizontal integration of each sub-tasks across multiple tasks. The event-based scheduling system and method include an event-based scheduling application which automates and integrates all the task and sub-tasks required to plan, conduct, status, and report a complex event or process.

  • Patent number: 7234060
Abstract: A digital signature is generated in association with target data. The computer generating the digital data encrypts the digital signature using a public key encryption system. The private key is stored in dynamic memory in a secure manner. The public key associated with the private key is stored in an accessible database. The public key is accessed from the database and used by recipient computers to authenticate the target data by decrypting the encrypted digital signature. When the computer generating the digital signature is restarted, the private key stored in dynamic memory is lost. The computer obtains a new private and public key pair from the public key encryption system. The previously used public key is maintained in the database until a predefined time has elapsed, after which it is removed from the database.
