Abstract: A scrubber for separating powder particles from a gas stream comprising a closed vertical cylindrical housing having a tangential inlet for the gas stream and a concentric discharge pipe passing through the top of the housing for the removal of the purified gas stream; in which means are provided for flushing the lower portion of the inner wall of the housing. The flushing means comprises an annular gutter surrounding the housing and communicating with said inner wall by means of a large number of narrow passages. The level of the gutter is well above the lower end of the discharge pipe.

Abstract: An electric dust precipitator comprising a chamber; a pair of groups of dust collecting electrodes disposed in the chamber; a plurality of discharging wires disposed between the dust-collecting electrode groups, a high d.c. voltage being applied to the wires and electrodes; and two horizontal scraping means each of which includes two sliding bars, adapted to slide along opposite surfaces of the electrodes and having brackets at the inside thereof, and drawing plates, wherein ends of the drawing plates in pairs are pivotally mounted on the brackets and the other ends of the drawing plates in pairs are commonly suspended by chains, respectively, whereby the dust precipitated on the electrodes can be easily and completely removed by winding up the chains and hence moving up the scraping means.
Abstract: A filter press plate for layer and settling filters having an open frame of stainless steel and at least one partition plate of corrosion resistance material detachably supported within the frame by means of cooperating lugs and recesses on the mutually facing edges of the at least one partition plate and frame, sufficient clearance space being provided between the peripheral edge of the at least one partition plate and the adjacent frame edges as to accommodate any difference in the heat expansions thereof at the maximum temperature to which the filter press plate is to be exposed. The frame includes exteriorly projecting hollow eyes which define manifolds for supplying and removing the liquid to be filtered when a plurality of the elements are stacked together in use. The at least one partition plate is profiled on its opposite side faces to form channels for the liquid being filtered.
