Abstract: The present invention provides energy-curable compositions comprising aminoacrylates produced by the Michael addition reaction of any blend of highly alkoxylated monomers with any blend of mono- and/or bireactive amines. Suitable highly alkoxylated monomers include, but are not limited to, poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylates, poly(propylene glycol) diacrylates, and ethoxylated trimethylolpropane triacrylates. The alkoxylated monomers have a degree of alkoxylation equal to or greater than 2.0 per functional group. The compositions of the present invention further comprise greater than 10% (w/w) of any blend of monomers having molecular weights of less than 1000 Daltons.

Abstract: Copolymerization of elemental sulfur with functional comonomers afford sulfur copolymers having a high molecular weight and high sulfur content. Nucleophilic activators initiate sulfur polymerizations at relative lower temperatures and in solutions, which enable the use of a wider range of comonomers, such as vinylics, styrenics, and non-homopolymerizing comonomers. Nucleophilic activators promote ring-opening reactions to generate linear polysulfide intermediates that copolymerize with comonomers. Dynamic sulfur-sulfur bonds enable re-processing or melt processing of the sulfur polymer. Chalcogenide-based copolymers have a refractive index of about 1.7-2.6 at a wavelength in a range of about 5000 nm-8????. The sulfur copolymer can be a thermoplastic or a thermoset for use in elastomers, resins, lubricants, coatings, antioxidants, cathode materials for electrochemical cells, dental adhesives/restorations, and polymeric articles such as polymeric films and free-standing substrates.

Abstract: Provided is a resin mixture, comprising: polyolefin (A); a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (B); and an acid modified olefin-vinyl carboxylate copolymer (C), wherein the acid modified olefin-vinyl carboxylate copolymer (C) has an olefin content of from 50 to 95 mol %, and a difference between an ethylene content of the saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (B) and the olefin content of the acid modified olefin-vinyl carboxylate copolymer (C) is within a range of from 20 to 70 mol %. This enables to provide a resin mixture that contains polyolefin and an EVOH, and even in continuous melt molding over a long period of time, has a less amount of screw buildup of a degraded material and also is reduced in generation of fish-eyes, cords, and streaks in a molded product obtained therefrom.
Abstract: Optically clear adhesive compositions contain an elastomeric polymer and a low molecular weight polymeric additive. The elastomeric polymer and the low molecular weight polymeric additive form an acid-base interaction. The refractive index of the adhesive composition is higher than the refractive index of the elastomeric polymer. The adhesive composition may also contain additional domains of liquids, polymers, additives or particles that have a higher refractive index than the elastomeric polymer.
