  • Patent number: 9471186
Abstract: A method for improving linearity of touch system coordinates first reads two-dimensional raw data of a capacitive touch panel. Next, it reads a pixel and adjacent pixels of the pixel from the two-dimension raw data. Then, it determines whether the value of the pixel is great than a pre-determined threshold. If the value of the pixel is not greater than the pre-determined threshold, it then determines whether there is a value of the adjacent pixels is greater than the pre-determined threshold. If there is no value of the adjacent pixels greater than the pre-determined threshold, it sets the value of the pixel to a pre-determined value. Otherwise, it reserves the value of the pixel in order to increase the linearity of two-dimensional raw data so as to avoid the interference of noise to the two-dimensional raw data.

  • Patent number: 9411511
Abstract: Certain aspects direct to a three-dimensional display device, which includes a display module defining a plurality of pixels, a barrier module, a sensing module, and a controller. For a viewer of the display module, the barrier module allows the viewer to perceives light emitted from the display module to form left-eye and right-eye views to form a three-dimensional virtual image. The sensing module generates sensing signals in response to detecting an object. The controller is configured to generate display signals for the display module to control the pixels, receive the sensing signals from the sensing module, and generate an object coordinate according to the sensing signals. In response to a display instruction, the controller controls the display module to display a three-dimensional virtual input device. In response to the object coordinate matching coordinates of an input region of the three-dimensional virtual input device, the controller generates an input command.

  • Patent number: 9389718
Abstract: In some examples, an electronic device may present a user interface that is configured to be controlled using a thumb of a single hand that is holding the device. For instance, the interface may present a plurality of selectable items, each of which may correspond to a respective one of a plurality of touch input areas on the display. In some cases, the touch input areas are within reach of the thumb, while the selectable items may be displayed on an area of the display that is not within reach of the thumb. The thumb may be pressed against the display surface with a force greater than a force threshold to select one of the selectable items. Thus, the thumb may be used to interact with the interface while remaining in contact with the display surface, enabling the user to maintain a grip on the device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a directory search system. Searching can be provided in a very intuitive manner through a graphical user interface that is part of a search application provided on an electronic device. The search system can employ a first letter of a first name combined with a first letter of a last name to quickly find contacts to dial without the use of a keyboard. Each letter can be associated with a pointer that is slidable along alphabet identifiers. By filtering contacts within the directory using the first letter of the first name and first letter of the last names, the user can retrieve a short list of potential contacts that the user wishes to retrieve information about. With thousands of possible entries, filtering using the first letter of the first name and the first letter of the last name often returns a short list of matches.
