  • Patent number: 11855803
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting a loop in a domain comprising a plurality of overlay tunnel fabrics is provided. The apparatus can include an indicator logic block that can insert a predetermined value, which can be unique for the apparatus in the domain, into an egress tunnel header of a packet of a data flow. The header's destination address can correspond to a remote apparatus of an overlay tunnel fabric that includes the apparatus. Tunnel encapsulation can be initiated and terminated within the corresponding overlay tunnel fabric. The indicator logic block can determine, for a respective packet of the data flow from a remote overlay tunnel fabric of the domain, whether the predetermined value is present in an ingress tunnel header. Upon identifying the predetermining value in the ingress tunnel header, a loop logic block of the apparatus can determine that a loop is present in the domain.

  • Patent number: 11825417
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for operating in a reduced power mode (RPM) of a user equipment (UE) in communications with a base station pursusant to a normal power mode (NPM). The NPM is characterized by one or more normal-power parameters comprising a normal sampling frequency and a normal signal bandwidth. The RPM is characterized by one or more reduced-power parameters comprising a reduced sampling frequency or a partial signal bandwidth. The UE determines whether to enter into the RPM for a duration. In response to determining to enter into the RPM for the duration, the UE powers down into the RPM by operating with the one or more reduced-power parameters for the duration of the RPM. Upon expiry of the duration of the RPM by the UE, the UE powers up into the NPM by resuming to the sampling frequency of the NPM and the signal bandwidth of the NPM.

  • Patent number: 11716284
Abstract: Techniques for group-based classification and policy enforcement at a network fabric edge for traffic that is being sent to external network destinations are disclosed herein. The techniques may include receiving, at a control plane of a network and from an edge node of the network, a request to provide mapping data associated with sending a packet to a destination. Based at least in part on an address prefix value associated with the destination, the control plane may determine that the destination is located in an external network. Additionally, a group identifier that is associated with the destination may be determined. In this way, an indication of the group identifier may be sent to the edge node such that the edge node may determine, based at least in part on the group identifier, a policy decision for routing the packet to the external network.

  • Patent number: 11575611
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing quality of service over IP networks are disclosed. In one aspect, a flow label field of a header may be divided into first and second portions. The first portion defines a quality of service. The second portion identifies a message flow. Once the first portion defining the quality of service is established by the sending node, no nodes in the transmission path may change the quality of service value. Each node may route packets based on the quality of service field, or may modify the traffic class field of the header based on the quality of service and then route the packet based on the traffic class field. The QoS field can be used to complement a DSCP/traffic class field and provide a better mechanism for end-to-end QoS using IPv6. A service provider can use DSCP within its own administrative domain(s), and end users can set and maintain QoS using the methods described herein, thereby providing a framework for end-to-end QoS using IP packets.

  • Patent number: 11546268
Abstract: A method includes examining a first data packet transmitted to a first network equipment from a second network equipment. A data flow type of the first data packet is determined. If the data flow type is determined to be the first type of data flow, determining a delivery throughput of the first data packet to the first network equipment over a data flow path. The determined delivery performance of the first data packet is compared to an expected peak data throughput capacity for a data packet transmitted to the first network equipment from the second network equipment. Transmission of data packets to the first network equipment is paced if the comparison of the determined delivery performance and the expected peak data throughput capacity indicates a congestion exists over the data flow path.

  • Patent number: 11483183
Abstract: A device, method, and non-transitory computer readable medium to perform a method of blind equalization implemented by a filter bank multi-carrier with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (FBMC-OQAM) transmission system. A first matrix W is obtained by dividing a second matrix V by a receiver waveform matrix G. The second matrix V is obtained by calculating a total objective function J until the total objective function J is either constant or below a threshold error margin. The calculation of the total objective function J includes iterating calculations with a plurality of combination of a frequency bin p and a time slot q. Weights of the obtained first matrix W are applied to an equalizer. A received signal in the equalizer is processed using the applied weights. The weights of the obtained first matrix W are configured to minimize a total outage probability Pout, TOTAL.

  • Patent number: 10542546
Abstract: The present invention relates to a communications system (1) with at least one node (101, 102, 110), a control instance (10) and a shared communications medium (11). The at least one node is designed to receive messages that are or were transmitted in a first transmission mode. This first transmission mode has a lower data transmission rate and/or transmission complexity than a second transmission mode. The control instance (10) determines a first of the nodes in order to transmit data thereto in the second transmission mode or in order to release the shared communications medium (11) for the first node to transmit data in the second transmission mode. The control instance communicates this to the first node by means of a message (501, 502, 503, 504). This message is transmitted in the first transmission mode.

  • Patent number: 10491515
Abstract: In one embodiment, a network device (e.g., a RPL router) executes fast local RPL recovery in a low power and lossy network (LLN). The network device, in response to becoming an orphan in a directed acyclic graph (DAG) topology, can utilize the data plane to maintain at least some data traffic by randomly forwarding the data traffic to identified neighbor devices, while eliminating children from the list of forwarders and by finding successors that can be used for re-parenting. Hence, when a RPL network device having lost its last feasible parent can avoid data loss and accelerate a re-parenting process using local repair in the data plane instead of the control plane of the routing protocol used to establish the DAG topology.
