  • Patent number: 7655171
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved process for mixing castable polyurethanes and polyureas and for prolonging the dispensing time for dispensing them into a golf ball mold for application to a golf ball sub-assembly. A nozzle framework includes support housing heaters and heater adaptors for each dispensing port to delay the onset of drool and improve cut off in the dispensing tubes. The combination of fluorinated dispensing ports, the heating of the polyureas or polyurethanes, and inclusion of a capillary orifice in each dispensing port significantly prolongs the time before the advent of drool is detected.

  • Patent number: 7651652
Abstract: A print pad for printing on a concave surface is molded to the forward surface of a cylindrical base. The base has a cavity therein and at least one hole extending from the forward surface thereof to the cavity. The print pad is made by filling a female mold with liquid polymer and positioning the forward surface of the base against the rear of the mold. Excess liquid polymer from the mold flows through the hole and into the cavity. As the polymer cures it contracts and draws liquefied polymer out of the cavity so that the cured print pad is not deformed.

  • Patent number: 7540988
Abstract: A method is disclosed of making a mounting or holder for use in analysis in an analytical instrument of samples of similar shape. The method includes obtaining a moulding that includes a protrusion; securing a sample having a lower surface and a side surface to the top of the protrusion of the moulding; introducing a mouldable material into the moulding only up to a level that is along the side surface of the sample and above the lower surface of the sample; allowing the mouldable material to set to form a mounting or holder; and separating the mounting or holder from the sample and the moulding.

  • Patent number: 7527759
Abstract: A method and associated apparatus for forming a composite structural member from a charge are provided. The charge can be disposed on a first die of the apparatus and formed to a desired configuration defined by a recess of the die by inserting a second die or a tool into the recess. In some cases, the first die can include two portions that are adjustable in a transverse direction so that the recess can be opened by the insertion of the second die or tool. The second die or tool can be a substantially rigid member or an inflatable bladder. In either case, the charge can be disposed on the first die, formed, and then further processed on the first die, thereby facilitating indexing of the charge for each operation.

  • Patent number: 7521011
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an epoxy resin composition for semiconductor encapsulating by use of a kneader provided with a suction hole on the downstream side of a kneading region in a conveying direction of the epoxy resin composition, and being provided with a supply orifice and a discharge orifice respectively disposed on the upstream side and the downstream side in the conveying direction of the epoxy resin composition, the method comprising kneading the epoxy resin composition, while discharging a volatile gas from the kneader through the suction hole, and simultaneously introducing outside air to the kneader through the supply orifice and the discharge orifice. Even under conditions of continuous operation of the kneader, it is possible to efficiently discharge a volatile gas, thereby significantly decreasing the quantity of a volatile components remaining in the kneaded epoxy resin composition.

  • Patent number: 7458142
Abstract: Method of producing a cannula used specially for a spinal anesthesia. The cannula is provided with a rigid tube whose distal end comprises a zone or region which gradually tapers in the direction of a puncture or insertion point and a lateral exit orifice or aperture embodied therein. The deformation or bending of an angular zone makes it possible to produce the puncture point and the exit orifice in one stage.

  • Patent number: 7419630
Abstract: A preferred embodiment provides, for example, a system and method of integrating fluid media dispensing technology such as direct-write (DW) technologies with rapid prototyping (RP) technologies such as stereolithography (SL) to provide increased micro-fabrication and micro-stereolithography. A preferred embodiment of the present invention also provides, for example, a system and method for Rapid Prototyping High Density Circuit (RPHDC) manufacturing of solderless connectors and pilot devices with terminal geometries that are compatible with DW mechanisms and reduce contact resistance where the electrical system is encapsulated within structural members and manual electrical connections are eliminated in favor of automated DW traces. A preferred embodiment further provides, for example, a method of rapid prototyping comprising: fabricating a part layer using stereolithography and depositing thermally curable media onto the part layer using a fluid dispensing apparatus.
