  • Patent number: 5094644
Abstract: A doll includes a hollow head and torso and generally replicates a human infant in appearance. The head portion defines an orifice for the introduction of a liquid such as water through simulated nursing. The water is initially received within the doll interior in a first reservoir which is effectively isolated from a second reservoir within the doll torso by a siphon tube coupling. The siphon tube coupling serves to delay the transfer of liquid from the first reservoir to the second reservoir until a predetermined amount of liquid has been introduced. The second reservoir includes a flexible wall portion which bulges outwardly when filled with water to trigger a switch which enables an internally supported sound generating system to produce crying action. In an alternate embodiment, the first and second reservoirs are combined within a common water tank and interconnected by a siphon passage.

  • Patent number: 5092811
Abstract: A mechanism for dolls which allows for crying, movement of the lips and swivelling of the eyeballs. The mechanism includes a control circuit and timing element which is connected to a switch placed in the mouth of the doll, a magnetic field detector placed in the proximity of the mouth, a voice apparatus, and a motor attached to a mechanism for moving the lips and eyes. The latter mechanism consists of an eccentrically mounted shaft which is attached to one end of a spring having its other end connected to a piece that ends in the shape of an arrow-head connected to the doll face in the proximity of the mouth of the doll. A pacifier inserted in the mouth of the doll, opens the switch to maintain inactive all the devices. If the pacifier is removed, the voice device is activated. A bottle having a magnetic element can be inserted into the mouth, and operates the magnetic field detector to start the motor and operate the lips and the eyes.

  • Patent number: 5090934
Abstract: An instructive toy consisting in a disassemblable vehicle model, which comprises a supporting structure which substantially simulates the frame of a real vehicle and is provided with releasable connections, and a number of operative units, provided with releasable connections complementary to the releasable connections of the supporting structure, and also provided with operative connections complementary to corresponding operative connections of other units. Each operative unit simulates a main functional unit of a real vehicle, particularly an engine unit, a speed gear unit and a differential unit, and each operative unit comprises movable component parts intended to simulate the operation of the simulated real functional unit, mounted within a transparent casing which allows their observation. The structure and the operation of the different operative units may be observed both separately in the disassembled model, and in their whole in the mounted model.

  • Patent number: 5090938
Abstract: An object capable of having its shape altered has a first cloth-like material formed in a first predetermined shape, an aperture formed in the first material so that an internal hollow of the first shape can be accessed and a second pliable material positioned within the internal hollow and formed to assume a second predetermined shape. The second material is connected to the first material at the internal hollow so that the second material can be withdrawn from the internal hollow through the aperture. In this formation, the aperture is common to both the first and second materials. By extracting the second material from the aperture, the first material can be inserted or pushed through the aperture into the internal hollow, where eventually, the first material and shape are completely contained within the internal hollow and surrounded by the second material. Therefore, the first material and its shape become undetectable as the second material and shape are exposed.

  • Patent number: 5090935
Abstract: A composite toy having a plurality of interfitting toy components. The composite toy and the toy components, each has the shape of a separately identifiable structure, the exterior surfaces of the toy components forming the exterior surface of the composite toy when they are interconnected in a selected relationship. In the embodiment shown herein, the composite toy consists of a globe depicting the Earth's surface, including its land and water masses. The component toys comprise three stuffed animals comprising an elephant, an eagle and a whale. Fastening means are provided to permit interconnection of the toy components in a stable fashion, while minimizing any detrimental impact on the appearance of the completed toy structure. In the embodiment illustrated herein, the fastening devices consist of Velcro strips attached to the edges of the toy components which are adapted to interface with one another when an elephant, eagle and whale are interconnected to form the globe.

  • Patent number: 5090937
Abstract: A game caller of the type utilized to attract game animals, for example, turkeys, includes telescopically interfitting tubular mouthpiece and amplifier sections. The mouthpiece section has a conically tapered portion which cooperates in frictional locking fashion with an internally conically tapered bore formed in the amplifier portion. The tubular mouthpiece has a circular end face provided with a shallow conical taper. A circular air outlet aperture is formed in an off-center manner through the end face of the mouthpiece. A latex diaphragm covers the air outlet aperture and is adjustably secured in place by an elastic rubber ring received in a circumferential groove formed in the tubular mouthpiece, adjacent the circular end face. The air outlet aperture of the mouthpiece is disposed within a hollow interior portion of the amplifier section, such that the emitted sound waves are amplified and directed to exit through an open end of the amplifier section.

  • Patent number: 5085608
Abstract: A portable, multi-use, self-storing, wall mounted fold down desk/work center providing interior storage with applications for home, office and institutional uses. A box-like storage cavity is mounted on a wall and may be positioned at various selected heights. A single piece desk member having a flat work surface is hingedly attached at its back edge to the bottom frame of the storage cavity. First and second doors are hinged to the edge of the desk member and fold shut against the under edge of the desk member to make a compact box. When open the desk is in a horizontal position and the doors are folded to a vertical position. On one edge of each door is an extendable leg which extends to the floor to give the desk added stability. A collapsible dollhouse may be stored in its carrying case in the storage cavity. • Patent number: 5078637
Abstract: A flexible flying disc used for play by adults and children as a retrieval toy for animals, particularly dogs. The disc is characterized by having an aerodynamic design for long and stable flight similar to rigid discs, yet is made of soft, flexible material which eliminates harm to humans and damage to the mouths of any animal catching it. The lower edge is made of an abrasion-resistant material which allows the disc to land and be skipped off hard surfaces without damaging the disc. A flexible tube within the disc provides a spring type action for maintaining the shape of the disc or for returning the disc to its original shape when the disc is folded or pulled out of shape. When the disc is tossed, it has a circular dome which inflates upwardly providing an air foil effect, while a lower edge, wrapped around the tube defines a toroid which provides a gyroscopic effect lending stability to the flight as the disk spins through the air.
