  • Patent number: 7118046
Abstract: In a sliding structure in which a shaft member is retained slidably in a guide hole, the lack of an oil film caused by the edge contact of the shaft member to which a pressing load in the axial direction is applied is prevented. With the fact being taken into account that end portions 25c1 and 25c2, which are always in slidable contact with a side surface 1232a of a guide hole 1232, of a side surface 25c of a shaft member 251 are the partial edge portion, a plurality of labyrinth grooves 2501 and 2502 are formed in the end portions 25c1 and 25c2, respectively, thereby it is possible for an oil film to cover the entire contact portion without increasing the groove width extremely. Because the groove width is not increased extremely, the length of the sliding portions can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 7114670
Abstract: A powder coating gun with an internal fan and a quick-change powder cartridge. Pressurized air generated by the fan entrains the powder coating material from the powder cartridge and the entrained powder coating material is charged in the ionizing field created by an emitter. The replaceable cartridge contains an inlet line and an outlet line oriented in a manner that allows the powder gun to be positioned in different angles and orientations with minimal risk of a powder spill from the powder coating gun. The powder cartridge contains a lid for supporting an inlet line and a body part constructed of clear or translucent material that allows the user to easily view the color of the powder. An electric power supply is used to power the fan and the emitter. A trigger is present in the handle of the powder coating gun and both controls the speed of the fan and enables the charge to the emitter.

  • Patent number: 7114662
Abstract: Snow is made, for use on ski slopes and the like, using compressed air at a pressure substantially less than 95 psig, preferably around 30 psig. The air is provided to a snow making head or snow gun, where it is flowed through an air nozzle having effective diameter D. The air stream intersects a water droplet stream with angle A and at distance L from the air nozzle. Preferred angle A is in the range 70 to 110 degrees. The preferred ratio L/D is in the range 9:1 and 22:1. High pressure air from existing compressor systems is reduced to a desired substantially lower pressure by a central choked flow throttle upstream of an aftercooler, or by multi-stage throttles located near the snow making head. Water is added to the compressed air to substantially improve snow making, particularly when ambient relative humidity is low.

  • Patent number: 7111793
Abstract: A washer nozzle includes a spread jet opening for basically jetting washer fluid in a predetermined direction of a vehicle; and a jet opening for accessorily and intensively jetting part of the washer fluid as a directional jet flow which is different from the spread flow basically jetted from the spread jet opening. The washer fluid is jetted and sprayed over a large area in a fan-shaped spread flow from the spread jet opening. Further, the washer fluid is intensively sprayed as the directional jet flow from the jet opening. Thus, sweeping performance of the washer nozzle and a washer apparatus is improved such that the directional jet flow is not substantially affected by airflow during high-speed driving so that the washer fluid is effectively utilized so as to be sprayed and supplied to areas that are prone to be left unwashed.

  • Patent number: 7111796
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a sprinkler apparatus and related methods for the distribution of fluid. The invention preferably includes a nozzle rotatably driven by a pressurized flow of fluid along a fluid path. The invention preferably includes a housing separating a magnetic drag coupling assembly from the fluid path. The coupling assembly preferably includes spaced apart magnets configured to exert an attractive force on each other to rotate one magnet in response to the rotation of the other magnet, and a resistive/drag force to oppose the continuous rotation of the nozzle. Pressure offsetting structures minimize or even neutralize the upward/downward forces that the flowing fluid otherwise would exert on the rotating shaft assembly.
