Abstract: A clamping device for shackle mechanisms which can also be used as a tear-open safeguard and as a sheet turner consists of a flat body (8) with two L-shaped apertures (9,9'), one leg (10,10') of each aperture (9,9') extending parallel to the plane of the sheet shackels (17,17') and the legs (11,11') extending transversely thereto being arranged in line, also on the flat body (8) there are two hook-shaped portions (12,12') with a mouth (13,13'), this mouth (13,13') extending, over the distance of the sheet-shackle legs (4,5), parallel to the transverse leg (11,11') of the aperture (9,9') and the mouth (13,13') and transverse leg (11,11') being clampable firmly to the sheet-shackle legs (4,5).

Abstract: A wrapping mechanism for use in combination with a round baling machine is disclosed wherein the baling machine has a frame, a baling chamber, and arms for supporting the roll of flexible material. An electric motor is provided on a shaft upon which the flexible material is mounted for selectively imparting rotational motion to the roll. The shaft is provided with an overriding clutch. A pulley is provided on the shaft for the roll. A belt extends around the pulley and is secured by its ends to a spring which in turn is secured to the frame of the machine to provide a drag for the shaft and the roll.A plate means is mounted on the frame adjacent the roll to separate a layer of material as it departs from the roll. The layer of material is directed towards the baling chamber or compartment.A wind shield plate is mounted on the frame adjacent the separated layer of material to protect the material from drafts. A cutter bar is mounted adjacent the entrance to the baling compartment.

Abstract: The invention relates to a card index which can be fixed to a vertical wall or vertically mounted on a base, in which the index cards are held by means of clamping devices in a receiving compartment formed in covered manner in the upper part of the index casing and are individually released on operating a selection key and transferred into the lower area of the casing provided with a window-like opening for inspection, the cards being secured and locked in the clamping device, so that a reliable release of the selected cards is possible, including those cards made from a material with a smooth surface such as e.g. plastics foil and in which incorrect manipulations are not possible.

Abstract: A hook is provided for fastening a filter bag thimble to a support member in a filter baghouse. The hook has a first eye for insertion of a tension member and a second eye through which the support member is inserted. The first eye is spaced from the second eye such that the tension member in the first eye is removable when the second eye is held by the support member.

Abstract: An improved cargo securing fitting comprising a base coupling member adapted to be fixed to the floor of a carrier and a cap coupling member removably connected to the base member. The base coupling member includes a plurality of outer spaced coupling lugs projecting radially inwardly of the inner periphery of a socket portion formed therein and a circular central pillar extending upwardly of the socket portion to the same level as the coupling lugs having a plurality of inner spaced coupling lugs projecting radially outwardly of the central pillar in diametrically opposed relationship to the outer coupling lugs. The removable cap coupling member has a circular plug element having a plurality of outer spaced coupling lugs projecting radially outwardly of the outer periphery of the plug element and a circular central recess having a plurality of inner spaced coupling lugs projecting radially inwardly in a diametrically opposed relationship to the outer coupling lugs.

Abstract: A harvester in the form of a self-propelled combine (11) has a crop header (24) and conveying means (31, 32) feeding crop material to a threshing rotor (34). The speed of rotation of the rotor (34) is adjustable by changing the speed of a variable speed belt drive (50) in the drive train from an engine (16) to the threshing rotor (34). The variable speed belt drive (50) is of a type whose speed ratio cannot be changed unless it is running. A special rotor clutch (71) is interposed between the variable speed belt drive (50) and the threshing rotor (34) to permit the variable speed drive to be disconnected from the threshing rotor. Thus, when the rotor (34) stops rotating because of excess crop material, the rotor clutch (71) may be operated to break the power train between the variable speed belt drive (50) and the threshing rotor (34) and the variable speed belt drive (50) may be run and adjusted to a lower output speed.

Abstract: A grain conserving kit for combines. The invention includes a rigid, notched transfer plate which is interposed between a combine cylinder thresher and the straw walkers in replacement of the conventional fingers assembly. The reduced width finger replacement plate is located below the beater above the concave, and it allows an abundance of grain and fine chaff to fall off the rearward end thereof as the straw walkers oscillate. The plate cooperates with a vertically oriented, rigid baffle to establish a drop chute. Air confiner apparatus is adapted to be coupled about the combine grain cleaning structure and the straw walkers. The confiner apparatus redistributes air flow from the conventional air blower acting upon the combine sieve structure during the final grain cleaning process. By confining air flow, unwanted material accumulation upon the downhill side of the apparatus when operating at an incline is avoided. Additionally, proper air distribution prevents grain from being blown out with the chaff.

Abstract: A locking mechanism in combination with a buckle connecting the separate straps of a horse blanket. A buckle includes a T-shaped coupling and a curved U-shaped coupling which couple together to form the buckle. The strap lock itself is comprised of a flat rectangular plate which has one end folded back onto itself to form a flange member, a base and a hollow cavity at the bight of the flange. The base contains raised projections which act as stops for preventing the loss of the strap lock. The strap lock is made of a resilient material because as it is being forced into its locking position, the bight of the flange member has to spread apart enough to slide over the curved area of the U-shaped coupling. The edge of the flange member confronts the head of the T-shaped coupling and prevents the T-coupling from sliding forward and twisting and uncoupling the buckle.

Abstract: A safety stirrup has a forward guard and safety release which is pivotally mounted to a U-shaped member. The U-shaped member is reinforced by a sole plate and hangs from the saddle by a ring placed such that the stirrup naturally extends outwardly from the horse. The stirrup is very safe since both of the rider's hands are free during mounting to control the horse, the sole plate protects the rider's foot, and the safety release prevents the rider's foot from being hung-up in the stirrup.

Abstract: A resilient capturing bead of silicone rubber is deposited and cured inside a tubular watch band endpiece and functions to frictionally engage a spring bar connector inserted in the endpiece, retaining the spring bar connector in proper position during assembly of the band and endpiece to a watchhead. The endpiece typically includes an access opening through which the capturing bead material is introduced into the endpiece.

Abstract: The invention is a clip used to clip the edge of a web that forms a seat or back of a lawn chair having a tubular frame. The clip is made from a single piece of wire bent into a T-shape with a stem the T-stem having a hook and a C-shaped hole searching lead section which is designed to engage the inside wall of a tube in use to maintain the axis of a hook section extending in a forward direction.
