  • Patent number: 7724722
Abstract: A method for transmitting uplink control information in a communication system using an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) scheme is provided. A mobile station (MS) selects a target anchor base station (BS) with which the MS desires to communicate through a fast feedback channel, and transmits a codeword allocated to the selected target anchor BS to a current anchor BS. Upon receiving the codeword, transmitting to the MS, by the anchor BS, fast feedback channel allocation information for the selected BS corresponding to the received codeword. The MS switches to a new anchor BS corresponding to the fast feedback channel allocation information.

  • Patent number: 7684437
Abstract: A system and method transmits graphic data received at varying frequencies at a fixed data rate. The frequency dependent data and associated data clock signal are received and the frequency dependent data is converted to frequency independent data. A ratio of a number of data clock cycles to a number of reference clock cycles is determined and transmitted. The frequency independent data and header data are transmitted, at a fixed rate, to a receiver, the fixed rate being a frequency greater than the frequency of the associated data clock signal. The received the frequency independent data is converted to frequency dependent data based upon the received determined ratio. The communication channel may include an optical fiber and a tension member wherein control data is transmitted along the tension member and graphic data is transmitted along the optical fiber.

  • Patent number: 7574241
Abstract: A sliding/folding-type portable apparatus includes a body housing; a sliding housing adapted to travel along the longitudinal direction of the body housing while continuously facing it to expose or hide the top surface of the body housing; a folding housing adapted to rotate about a first hinge axis to fold on or unfold from the sliding housing and to rotate about a second hinge axis, which is perpendicular to the first hinge axis, to reverse the top and bottom surfaces thereof; and a dual-axis hinge sliding module connected between the sliding housing and the folding housing to provide the folding housing with the first and second hinge axes.

  • Patent number: 7443819
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and an apparatus for managing relocation of one or more scrambling codes in a spread spectrum wireless communications system. The method comprises detecting an indication for a serving radio network subsystem relocation that causes a user equipment to leave a first radio network controller and selectively transiting, through an intermediate transition, at least one scrambling code of the one or more scrambling codes associated with an uplink from the first radio network controller to a second radio network controller for the user equipment in response to the indication. The first radio network controller may maintain three pools of scrambling codes, namely, a first pool of one or more relocated scrambling codes (SCs), a second pool of one or more free scrambling codes and a third pool for each of one or more used scrambling codes. By avoiding an early reuse, an uplink scrambling code may be assigned to a particular UE because a target radio network controller, i.e.

  • Patent number: 7400887
Abstract: The per sector or per cell downlink capacity in a spread spectrum wireless network is determined using a single test mobile that is operating within a background of simulated co-channel interference being broadcast in each sector by all cell sites in the network whose capacity is of interest. From all sectors, an Orthogonal Channel Noise Simulator (OCNS) generates a multiple number of calibrated test signals, which are aggregated and broadcast downlink, where each transmitted test signal simulates the downlink power transmitted to a live mobile. Each component test signal in the aggregated OCNS output transmitted in each sector is a sample of a stochastic process with a set mean and standard deviation that are determined from the mean and standard deviation of the power of a real signal transmitted downlink to the test mobile as it is moved around the network's coverage area.

  • Patent number: 7353052
Abstract: An upper housing and a lower housing of a mobile terminal apparatus has a hinge for rotatably and slidably supporting both the upper and lower housings at one end portion of each of the upper housing and the lower housing, and being able to slidably rotate one of the two housings relative to the other to make both the housings to be an opened state or a closed state. Further, positioning means performs a positioning in the closed state by detachably engaging the upper housing with the lower housing on another end portion opposite to the one end portion. As the positioning means is constituted of the projection and recess of the housings, the positioning means can be realized with a relatively simple structure and with a relatively low cost.

  • Patent number: 7340227
Abstract: A wireless communication system uses a transmission power detection circuit. The transmission power detection circuit has excellent linearity of detection output for transmission output power and can obtain detection output not having temperature dependence. The transmission power detection circuit has a rectifying detection part that includes plural amplifiers connected in series and obtains detection output by taking out rectified outputs from emitters of input transistors of amplifiers of individual stages and synthesizing them. A compensation voltage generating circuit has a dummy amplifier having a construction similar to the amplifiers constituting the rectifying detection part and a coefficient circuit that changes output of the dummy amplifier at a specified ratio, and generates voltage for compensating temperature characteristics.
