  • Patent number: 7130913
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing accelerated data storage and retrieval utilizing lossless data compression and decompression. A data storage accelerator includes one or a plurality of high speed data compression encoders that are configured to simultaneously or sequentially losslessly compress data at a rate equivalent to or faster than the transmission rate of an input data stream. The compressed data is subsequently stored in a target memory or other storage device whose input data storage bandwidth is lower than the original input data stream bandwidth. Similarly, a data retrieval accelerator includes one or a plurality of high speed data decompression decoders that are configured to simultaneously or sequentially losslessly decompress data at a rate equivalent to or faster than the input data stream from the target memory or storage device. The decompressed data is then output at rate data that is greater than the output rate from the target memory or data storage device.

  • Patent number: 7124282
Abstract: Instructions for a processing unit are stored in a number of memory banks, successive instructions being stored in successive, different memory banks. Whenever execution of an instruction is started, the reading of one instruction which will be executed more than one instruction cycle later is also started. Consequently, a plurality of instructions are read in parallel from different memory banks. After the reading of an instruction, and before starting the execution of the instruction, the instruction passes through a pipeline in which the processing device detects whether the relevant instruction is a branch instruction. If this is so, the processing unit starts the reading in parallel of a number of instructions as from a branch target instruction. If it appears at a later stage that the branch is taken, said number of instructions is loaded into the pipeline in parallel.

  • Patent number: 7117253
Abstract: An information management system records in a server contents that need not be updated for a fixed time-period. The system accesses desired contents in a local device or the server storing the contents. A request for information is made from an information browsing unit to a local request relaying unit which receives the request and analyzes the request contents. The local request relaying unit acquires a server-side control file managed by the server to which the request is directed and also acquires a local-side control file from a duplicate information storing unit. Confirmation is made as to whether the latest version of the requested information exists in the duplicate information storing unit. If the latest version of the requested information exists in the duplicate information storing unit, the requested information is fetched from the duplicate information storing unit; otherwise the information is fetched from the server computer.

  • Patent number: 7117342
Abstract: A processor executes an instruction set including instructions in which a register specifier is implicitly derived, based on another register specifier. One technique for implicitly deriving a register specifier is to add or subtract one from a specifically-defined register specifier. Implicit derivation of a register specifier is selectively implemented for some opcodes. A decoder decodes instructions that use implicitly-derived register specifiers and reads the explicitly-defined register. The decoder generates pointers both to the explicitly-defined register and to the implicitly-derived register. In other embodiments, a pointer to registers within a register file includes an additional bit indicating that a register read is accompanied by a read of an implicitly-derived register.

  • Patent number: 7065552
Abstract: A relay communication device capable of simplifying a method for designating a destination of relay transmission requesting mail to another relay communication device. A CPU reads Subject information stored in a data memory, analyzes the subject information, compares it with an identifying character for relay stored in a relay identification character storing section and judges whether or not a character matching any one of the identifying characters for relay exists in the subject information. If a matched character exists, E-mail is judged to be a relay transmission request. Then, password information is extracted from the subject information and the extracted information is compared with a password being stored in advance in the password information storing section. If the password exists in the subject information and if the existing password matches a password stored in a password storing section, the relay transmission request is implemented.
