  • Patent number: 10375364
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus for alleviating an obstruction caused by an object from a view of an observer includes a hardware device affixed to the object such that the observer observes a presentation on the device when observing the object. The device is enabled to receive a signal, wherein the signal corresponds to a portion of an ambience obscured by the object from a view of the observer. The signal is processed at the device and without using a data processing system, to generate a version of the signal. Using the device, the version of the signal is presented to the observer as the presentation, wherein the version of the signal alleviates the portion of the ambience obstructed by the object in the view of the observer.

  • Patent number: 10336257
Abstract: A rear vision system for a host vehicle and a method of using the same, where the rear vision system includes an electronic display mirror that is designed to replace a traditional rearview mirror. The electronic display mirror has an integrated electronic video display that is coupled to a rearward facing camera at the back of the vehicle and displays a video feed from the camera to the driver in real time. The electronic display mirror can display enhanced video output that shows the area behind the host vehicle, along with performance metrics that are superimposed on the video and provide relevant information to the driver. For example, the enhanced video output may include an estimated time difference between the host vehicle and the closest trailing vehicle superimposed on the video; this may be particularly useful when the host vehicle is involved in a performance driving event, like a race.

  • Patent number: 10326969
Abstract: A vision system of a vehicle includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle. The camera includes an imaging array having rows and columns of photosensing elements that may include red light sensing elements, green light sensing elements and blue light sensing elements. An image processor is operable to process image data captured by the camera. A display is disposed in the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle and is operable to display images derived from captured image data. Responsive to image processing of captured image data by the image processor, temporal noise in images derived from captured image data is reduced by determining a change in luminance of photosensing elements from a first frame of captured image data to a second frame of captured image data.

  • Patent number: 10319145
Abstract: Technologies for representing alternate reality characters in a real-world environment include receiving sensor data from sensors of a sensor network of a home location of an alternate reality character, determining available response to the stimuli represented by the sensor data, and determining an activity of the alternate reality character for a time period based on the available responses. The technologies may also include generating a video of the alternate reality character performing the determined activity superimposed on an image map of a real-world environment of the home location during the time period. Users may view the video in real time or during a time period subsequent to the time period represented in the video. Additionally, the alternate reality character may be transferred to remote computing devices in some embodiments.

  • Patent number: 10277885
Abstract: Dense field imagers are disclosed which are configured to provide combined, aggregated, fused, and/or stitched light field data for a scene. A dense field imager can include a plurality of imaging elements configured to be joined into image blocks or facets that each provides light field data about a scene. The dense field imager can include a plurality of facets in a fixed or modular fashion such that the dense field imager is configured to combine, aggregate, fuse and/or stitch light field data from the plurality of facets. The facets can be mounted such that one or more facets are non-coplanar with other facets. The facets can be configured to provide a representation of the light field with overlapping fields of view. Accordingly, the dense field imager can provide dense field data over a field of view covered by the plurality of facets.

  • Patent number: 10242695
Abstract: Techniques for enhancing an acoustic echo canceller based on visual cues are described herein. The techniques include changing adaptation of a filter of the acoustic echo canceller, calibrating the filter, or reducing background noise from an audio signal processed by the acoustic echo canceller. The changing, calibrating, and reducing are responsive to visual cues that describe acoustic characteristics of a location of a device that includes the acoustic echo canceller. Such visual cues may indicate that no human being is present at the location, that some subject(s) are engaged in speaking or sound generating activities, or that motion associated with an echo path change has occurred at the location.
