  • Patent number: 10542288
Abstract: The present embodiments introduce a new type of random access point in video bitstreams that can be used for random access operations but can be represented in encoded form at a lower bit-cost as compared to IRAP pictures. The random access point is a dependent random access point (DRAP) picture that is encoded and decoded using an IRAP picture as sole reference picture for the DRAP picture. The DRAP picture is encoded as a trailing picture that may be used for reference and constitutes a random access point in a video bitstream.

  • Patent number: 10440367
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to adaptively encoding a video stream based on viewer engagement, content schedule and/or content characteristics. A system routes a video stream from a signal extractor to a first virtual encoder. The first virtual encoder is instantiated on a cloud platform and provides a first video output at a first bitrate. A second virtual encoder is instantiated on the cloud platform in response to a change in viewer count. The system routes the video stream from the signal extractor to the second virtual encoder. The second virtual encoder provides a second video output at a second bitrate. The second bitrate is different from the first bitrate.

  • Patent number: 10392919
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for evaluating an earth formation intersected by a borehole using information from standard resolution measurements. Methods include generating an image representative of the formation over an interval of borehole depth, the image having a second resolution greater than the first resolution. Generating the image may be carried out by identifying layers corresponding to lithotype facies within the interval, the layers defined by boundaries having boundary locations along the borehole; and using a unified characterization of the formation within the interval determined from the standard resolution measurements and the boundary locations within the interval to solve for a value for the formation parameter corresponding to each layer consistent with the unified characterization of the interval. The unified characterization may be an average value for the formation parameter within the interval.

  • Patent number: 10336257
Abstract: A rear vision system for a host vehicle and a method of using the same, where the rear vision system includes an electronic display mirror that is designed to replace a traditional rearview mirror. The electronic display mirror has an integrated electronic video display that is coupled to a rearward facing camera at the back of the vehicle and displays a video feed from the camera to the driver in real time. The electronic display mirror can display enhanced video output that shows the area behind the host vehicle, along with performance metrics that are superimposed on the video and provide relevant information to the driver. For example, the enhanced video output may include an estimated time difference between the host vehicle and the closest trailing vehicle superimposed on the video; this may be particularly useful when the host vehicle is involved in a performance driving event, like a race.

  • Patent number: 10326969
Abstract: A vision system of a vehicle includes a camera disposed at a vehicle and having a field of view exterior of the vehicle. The camera includes an imaging array having rows and columns of photosensing elements that may include red light sensing elements, green light sensing elements and blue light sensing elements. An image processor is operable to process image data captured by the camera. A display is disposed in the vehicle and viewable by a driver of the vehicle and is operable to display images derived from captured image data. Responsive to image processing of captured image data by the image processor, temporal noise in images derived from captured image data is reduced by determining a change in luminance of photosensing elements from a first frame of captured image data to a second frame of captured image data.
