  • Patent number: 6923392
Abstract: In method for freeze-crushing waste resources, freezing gas is first created by collecting freezing heat source of liquefied petroleum gas during a heat exchange process between the liquefied petroleum gas and cooling gas, and then the waste resources stored in a freezing tank is frozen to a temperature where the waste resources can be easily crushed by supplying the freezing gas to the freezing tank. Next, the frozen waste resources is crushed in an crushing apparatus, after which the freezing gas is separated from the crushed waste resources in a separate apparatus and the freezing gas for is collected the purpose of reuse.

  • Patent number: 6918193
Abstract: A shoe drier has a housing from which paired tubes (10) project as holding elements for the shoes, boots, or the like which are to be dried. In the housing (1) there is a fan (15) which forces air into the tubes (10), the tubes are chosen to be serpentine and project with their free ends out of the housing. The air which has been forced into the tubes emerges from the tubes (10) through openings (20). In order to heat the air (19) emerging from the openings (20), there are heat conductors (30) in the tubes (10).

  • Patent number: 6918195
Abstract: It is known from the art to mount a wire gauze (10) onto a drum (1) with a permeable drum jacket (8) under pretension, for example, for allowing air to flow through a web of material placed on said drum, said wire gauze optionally being disposed even at a distance to the drum jacket surface. The air thus flows more evenly across the surface of the web of material and no visible marks on the web of material, caused by the contact of the web with the intermediate space between the holes of the drum, occur. The wire gauze has to be elastically fastened on the front faces of the drum to compensate also for thermal stresses. According to the invention, preferably U-shaped spring elements (11) extending radially to the axis of the drum are fastened on the front face of the drum and on a tensioning ring (13) for the gauze provided on the level of the drum outer diameter.

  • Patent number: 6915593
Abstract: A drying rack can be fixed in the drum of a tumble dryer to dispose items to be dried in a static manner. The items can be, for example, woolens or shoes that should not be rotated with the moving drum during the drying process. To prevent the items to be dried from coming into contact with the rotating drum, the drying rack includes an external casing, which seals the rack off from the periphery of the drum. An internal rack, in particular, including several levels, can be located inside the external casing. The items to be dried can be distributed on the levels.

  • Patent number: 6910348
Abstract: A machine (10) for making products such as iced beverages and the like comprises a tank (11) to contain the product in which cooling means (12) and stirring means (13) are present. The tank comprises a product-dispensing tap (14) having a slidable piston (15) and which is provided with sealing elements (17, 18) to offer a hydraulic outward seal to the tank when the tap is in a closed condition. The piston portion (23) between the sealing elements and in contact with the product in the tank has a reduced section to form regions (19) of free circulation of the product around the piston. The tank may comprise surfaces (20) for conveying the product towards such regions so as to facilitate circulation thereof. Thus the product stagnation that may cause bacteria and pollutant formation is avoided and the cleaning operation with use of sanitising solutions is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 6910337
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for storing liquefied zeotropic gas mixtures. To ensure a composition of the liquid phase which meets specifications, the change of the gas phase is determined by means of a differential pressure transducer by comparing the pressure with a calibration mixture. The mixture composition of the liquid phase is regulated by subsequently metering in the mixture components which have the higher partial pressure.

  • Patent number: 6907742
Abstract: An apparatus and method which is particularly suitable for maintaining a wafer at an optimum temperature for the alignment and exposure step during photolithography. The apparatus includes a cooling plate having at least one cooling channel. A coolant is continually circulated through the cooling channel to cool the cooling plate and the wafer resting thereon prior to transfer of the wafer to a wafer stage in a stepper, for example. The cooling plate may be mounted on an OF table inside the stepper and include a central opening for receiving the wafer-engaging shaft of the OF table. The cooling plate maintains all regions of the wafer at substantially the same temperature as the wafer stage in the stepper prior to transfer of the wafer to the wafer stage.

  • Patent number: 6901683
Abstract: A method, apparatus and article of manufacture for providing electromagnetic drying of printed media. A resonant cavity allows support of standing waves along many radial axes throughout the resonant cavity. The electromagnetic drying unit allows forced air to be introduced into the resonant cavity, thereby reducing moisture within the resonant cavity and extending the life of the resonant cavity. Input and output openings may be arranged longitudinally along the resonant cavity and may be designed to substantially reduce the amount of electromagnetic radiation emanating from them during operation. A honeycomb feature at the end of the resonant cavity may allow egress of the forced air, while substantially reducing the amount of electromagnetic radiation emanating from the end of the resonant cavity.

  • Patent number: 6895691
Abstract: The present invention provides a seed dryer having an air kettle. The air kettle defines a seedbed. A plenum and diffuser direct air from an air supply to the bottom of the seedbed without the need for screens. The air from the air supply is provided with sufficient pressure that the seedbed is fluidized which decreases the need for mechanical agitation of the seeds. Dry seeds tend to accumulate on a surface of the seedbed. Removal of the accumulated seeds is facilitated by at least one perforation in and deflector cap that direct a portion of the air supply to a top surface of the seedbed.

  • Patent number: 6892476
Abstract: A clothes dryer has a rear panel and an exhaust vent passing through the rear panel. The exhaust vent is adapted to be connected with a flexible venting hose. The spacer is pivotally mounted to the rear panel of the clothes dryer for movement between an upright shipping position extending adjacent the dryer rear panel and a lowered position extending out and away from the dryer rear panel for maintaining a predetermined distance between the rear panel of the dryer and a room wall adjacent to which the clothes dryer is adapted to be positioned. The spacer has a cover member which is adapted to at least partially cover the exhaust vent when the spacer is in the upright position to prevent connection of a flexible venting hose to the dryer exhaust vent. The spacer of the present invention insures that a predetermine distance is maintained between the rear panel of the dryer and a room wall adjacent to which the dryer is positioned so as to prevent kinking of the flexible heating hose.

  • Patent number: 6892472
Abstract: A method and apparatus for rinsing and spin-drying a hydrophobic material such as a hydrophobic semiconductor wafer improves wafer drying while at the same time reduces the formation of residual contaminants on the dried surface of the wafer. This is accomplished by first establishing a safe-zone between a minimum rotational speed above which drying proceeds satisfactorily and a maximum rotational speed above which contaminants dry on the wafer's surface. A spin-rate profile can then be adopted such that the rinse/dry process proceeds within the safe zone.

  • Patent number: 6889520
Abstract: The object of the invention is to provide a thermal complementary (combination of heat supply and heat discharge) system which can complement heat without the restriction of area of a region to be supplied with heat. An endless multiplex helical loop is formed to complement the heat produced in a region such as plants and regional facilities on a reciprocal basis, and the water is not circulated forcibly but achieves heat transfer in the helical loop. Liquid or slurry-like water is sealed in the annular endless channel (endless loop) without forcibly circulated. Therefore, loop diameter of the annular endless channel, that means the area of the region, is not limited. The water forms temperature zones in the endless helical loop, the temperature being different per each component loop. Distributed cryogenic sources and thermal sources are thermally connected to said multiplex helical loop so that heat (i.e. water) can be taken in or discharged to or from said cryogenic or thermal sources.
